LILITH’ POV The hard cold stares are even much worse than it had been at my pack, and I walk past every single one of them, wondering why and yet keeping my distance. How exactly am I going to integrate into this system when no one wants to talk to me? There’s no chance of getting a good whiff of even a bit of gossip from anyone. I haven’t met a single soul here that isn’t hostile towards me, all taking after their psycho Alpha. I walk past a couple practically glaring bitterly at me.

Not hostile. Interested. Very interested. And somehow I already know this conversation isn't ending anytime soon.

Why does he sound so hostile? He takes a step closer to me narrowing his eyes menacingly "Are you deaf or something? Didn't your mother teach you manners? How dare you just barge in without asking! Do you know who I am?!" He yells raising his voice. Everyone starts whispering loudly while others start walking away leaving us alone in the middle of the room.

Frustration rushed through me, further fueling my anger. I tried again, this time using a different number. Zara picked it up. "Hello?" her voice was tense but cautious. "Hello, Zara," I said, my voice firm but controlled. "What's the problem?" she responded, her tone drenching with attitude, her mixed tone of defiance and hostility. It lit up a little surprise in me. "Are we fighting, Zara?" I shot back with a little confusion and concern in my voice. It caught me a little off guard because of how hostile she was.

His eyes were narrowed and staring at me in the chair with coldness; he approached, closing the door behind him. I lifted my eyes to meet his perfectly sculpted face framed in perfectly arranged side hair, swallowing some saliva that had accumulated. "What do you want?" I asked, trying to appear as angry as possible. An uncomfortable silence hung in the air for a while. I could feel his accelerated breath and see his chest moving in the tight black shirt. He looked at me and shrugged. "Don't be so hostile," he said softly, moving closer, "Could you not trample on my feelings?" I scoffed with a bitter laugh.
