“Now let us go catch a rogue.” We moved all moved together, with our combined force now twice as strong. The soldiers spread out, as they surrounded the warehouse with practiced movements. I signaled to the teams at each exits, which were ready and waiting. Then I raised my hand and brought it down sharply. “Go!” We burst through the doors and windows together and the warehouse exploded into chaos. Gunfire. Shouts. The clash of wolves in battle. Elias men were caught off guard, but they recovered fast. They were fighters, very vicious and desperate.

Raid handed his over without hesitation. I removed mine and tossed it to the ground, crushing it under my boot. The man nodded, impressed despite himself. They let us through. Inside, the warehouse was wide and empty except for the men waiting. At least fifteen of them. All armed. All watching us like they were already deciding how they’d kill us.
