Born Rogue

Born Rogue

Seeing titles like 'Minerals and Gemstones' and 'Animals of the Sahara', I knew I was in the science section. I had to search three more sections: languages, music, and mathematics, before I finally found the section that housed the books on the supernatural. At first, all the books I see are about werewolves. Walking further down the row, the topics change from werewolves to vampires to witches. At the very end of the row, in a small section, nearly invisible unless you are looking for it, stand the books about lycans. I decide to start with trying to find what ingredients may have been used in the sedative Clay gave me.

Alpha’s Forbidden Mate

Alpha’s Forbidden Mate

“We’ve never met.” “No,” said Riss, “but I heard about you. Ruiner of ’Stadt, breaker of the old pack.” “Tell me what you want,” Carolina said, because small talk was for children and spies. Riss listened to the city for a second, then opened the suitcase. “I have books,” she said. Carolina blinked. “You walked three days across the dead grid to bring us stories?”

The Love Barn

The Love Barn

"But sometimes being a friend means saying stuff you don't want to hear." "Can you just-wait?" "Okay. Want to come upstairs while I shelve some books and talk?" "Sure." "Come on." Elisabeth hooked her arm in Dixie's. They hauled the books up themselves rather than use the dumbwaiter. The second story of the Ransom library was spectacular. Like something out of Beauty and the Beast with the stained glass windows and original bookcases. It was like a place away from reality. Which was what Dixie needed.

Wild Embers

Wild Embers

Present Day I’m in desperate need of a fucking cup of coffee! It's only ten o clock on a Friday morning and I have no clue how I'm gonna make it all the way to three in the afternoon. I watch as student after student approach the front of my classroom. I try my hardest to concentrate on what they are saying as they each give their thoughts on the book we have just finished reading. Many of the students end their presentation with the phrase stay golden pony boy. I am so glad that they enjoyed the book. Of course they did, a story about a gang of poor orphaned misfits fighting with the well-off rich boys from the other side of the tracks, it was a no brainer. I’m so glad that this book is par

Bound to The Enemy of My Mate

Bound to The Enemy of My Mate

The Rennar symbol. She snatched the key. The metal was cold. Without a backward glance, she fled. The Rennar library was a tomb of forgotten truths. She went straight to a section blocked by a frayed red rope. The Forbidden Collection. She found it: Instinct and Transformation: Observations on the Lycanthrope. She carried the heavy tome to a table, her heart pounding a frantic rhythm against her ribs. The pages crackled with age. She skimmed past charts of moon cycles and dietary notes until her eyes found a heading that stopped her breath.

I went into this book really hating Riley, only giving it a chance b/c I trust Cassandra's writing and vision for the world she has created. I have come out of reading it with a completely changed opinion of the character and loving the story. I would totally recommend it but start with the 1st book

I have been reading different series on this platform, and this is the first one where I was fully invested in the story of Riley. I don't want to spoil anything, but I broke down crying at one point with the anguish felt by Riley in a particular scene. This by far is the most powerful love story!!!

A Life Ransomed in Lies

A Life Ransomed in Lies

He exhaled sharply, forcing the tears back, and continued flipping through the pages. [They said as long as I have the money, I can ransom Joe back! No matter how much it costs, I'll do it. Today I picked up ten part-time jobs all at once.] … [Because we didn't have money, our son had to transfer to a boarding nursery in the suburbs. I'm not a good mother… he's so small… [When can I ransom Joe back? I'm so tired. [Just a little longer. When Joe returns, all this suffering will turn to sweetness.]

Frequently Asked Questions

The Ransom Canyon series by Jodi Thomas is such a cozy, heartwarming read! I stumbled upon it while browsing for small-town romance novels, and it quickly became one of my comfort series. There are six books in total, starting with 'Ransom Canyon' and wrapping up with 'Sunrise Crossing.' Each one weaves together interconnected lives in this Texas community, full of ranch drama, slow-burn romances, and that nostalgic feel-good vibe.

What I love is how Thomas builds the town’s history across the books—characters from earlier installments pop up later, making the world feel lived-in. If you’re into series where the setting almost becomes a character itself, this one’s perfect. The final book left me bittersweet; I wasn’t ready to say goodbye to Ransom Canyon!
