Rachael POV Hunger beat through my stomach so hard it felt like something alive was clawing at me from the inside. I grabbed my small bag with shaky fingers, the strap rough against my jaw. It had been too long since I’d eaten anything real, and every breath felt lighter than the one before, like my body was giving up little by little. If I didn’t find something soon, I knew I’d pass out. Maybe for hours. Maybe forever.

“You did this. My family’s paying a debt that never ends because of you.” The man reached out, his hand stretching longer, twisting into a shadow that tightened around June’s throat. “The debt isn’t mine anymore,” the Hunger whispered. “The debt belongs to whoever holds the Book. Give it to me, and time will move again. I’ll eat the pages, and the world will turn.” “If you eat the pages, the recipes are gone!” June choked out, clawing at the shadow. “The world will move, but there’ll be no bread, no life!”

Manang Lydia said. “Does she allow that?” Manang Lydia smiled and winked at me. “If you are feeling fine, then you can.” I went upstairs and went to Dale’s library. Before picking up a book to read, I enjoyed looking, rooming around first, leaving a gentle touch to every book I passed by. My gaze at the “The Scorch Trial” book that was written by James Dashner. I already finished reading “The Maze Runner”. I decided to read it and went to the garden.

I quickly duck my head and try to pretend like I am reading the book right now.

His hands roamed her body without mercy, fingers teasing her nipples until they ached, then dipping lower to claim her wetness. I shifted on the couch, feeling that familiar tingle between my legs. God, why did these books always get me so worked up? My thighs pressed together instinctively, seeking friction.
