I Ran Away From The Hunter Novels & Stories

I made him think I believe every word he says and he bought it. I was supposed to be hunting for this man who they call “the white dragon” that led the nightcrawlers. Shrugging it off, I accepted the job in exchange for triple the amount for our monthly allowance. Food is hard enough to get by in these times. I have to admit if it wasn’t for Hunter who took us into his pack we would have starved so I needed to do something about it. It has been weeks but nothing. It’s like they’ve all disappeared or shit like that. And when I heard my daughter ran away because of this pretty boy Hunter I wasted no time and left my post.

I stumble over my feet, trying to get distance between us, hoping he would miss. But in my mind, I know he won’t. He’s a Huntsman, and now he’s hunting me.

Realizing how wrong I was, I shifted away from Hunter and left the room. "Sienna! Wait!" Hunter calls out. However, unlike before, I no longer feel compelled to stop. Seeing my defiance, Hunter begins to chase after me. Once again, knowing that if I really wanted to get away, then I could've easily done it. However, something inside of me prevents me from actually trying to escape.

Alpha Eskaal was right, there was danger outside the pack! "Look what we have here!" One of them sneered, his voice dripping with sadistic delight. "A lost little cub wandering into our territory." Panic coursed through my veins as I realised I had stumbled into their hunting grounds. I tried to run away from them to the other side, but my steps faltered and my legs heavy with despair. The hunters' malicious laughter echoed behind me as they closed in, their intentions clear. I ran. Yes, I ran as fast as I could, away from them for my own life.

I was right beside him, why does he assume that I'm running away from him? I was only going to get him water or something to fill his stomach with. “Me, running away from you? How?” I was confused. “You are literally trying to stay away from me, that's why you keep coming up with all these excuses. I never told you that I was hungry or thirsty, you are just trying to get away from me. Do I make you feel somewhat uncomfortable?”

There was another long pause. My legs began to shake and I gave Nico a signal to release me so I could go out and meet the hunter instead of him hurting my friends. But Nico held on tight and shook his head. The seconds began to turn to minute and the hunter began to retreat. "Alright girl, you made your choice. The next candle night would be for your friends." he started to withdraw. "Wait!!!" I pushed myself out of Nico's grip and ran out. I stared into the deadly eyes of the weird man I bumped into that day of the trip. Who knew who would turn out hunting us?

She let out a screeching sound and ran away. After Millorick and his men escaped, it didn't mean I was safe. Instead, my safety was threatened by the other Glaze hunters. They tried to approach me, but I took a few steps back and chose to run. Francis Blake and three other Hunters chased me. He told me to stop. While I continue to run away from them. Alden who had freed them earlier then sneaked back to the hill. We met in the forest behind the hill. "Are you okay?" I stopped and sat under a tree. My breathing was ragged.

He crashed into the closest hunter before they even had time to react. “There!” someone yelled. “The male! Catch him!” I knew I was supposed to run. Kael told me to. But I couldn’t leave him behind. I shifted and jumped at the second hunter. I bit his arm, not hard enough to seriously hurt him, but enough to make him shout and drop his weapon. “I told you to RUN!” Kael shouted in my mind. “I’m not leaving you!” The third hunter lifted a crossbow and pointed it at Kael.

(Loud scream and the audio went quiet) Audio 4 (The time difference of five minutes made Hunter imagine his mother running for her life): I… I ran a-away from the restroom, Hunter. A… A woman tried to sting me with a syringe from the next lavatory. She jumped the wall to attack me. S-she's after me with the hooded person. It's a man I think. I… I heard him groan when I pushed past him. (heavy breathing) I am hiding in the p-parking lot now.
