The Darkest Obsession

The Darkest Obsession

"Just Black Rose business. The usual chaos." She didn't look convinced but she didn't push, and I was grateful for that. We sat there in the quiet, the afternoon light streaming through the window and painting everything in shades of gold and amber. She started telling me about the book she'd been reading, some mystery novel that Elias had sworn she'd enjoy, and I found myself listening not to the words but to the sound of her voice, the way it rose and fell with her enthusiasm. "And then the detective realizes the killer has been right there the whole time, hiding in plain sight," she said, her hands moving as she spoke, animated in a way I rarely got to see. "I didn't see it coming at all.

Prince Charming's one-night stand

Prince Charming's one-night stand

, the walls were painted a deep shade of brown, that were so warm against the reflection of the dim lighting. "Wow, lovely room...she does know how to make simplicity beautiful." He soliloqized. At least he could spend some time knowing her on his own. His attention was also drawn to a tall, white vase sitting prettily on another table near the door. Inside the vase, there were three red roses blooming. And as he observed them, he realized that there was a pint of blood on the petals, and a part of the vase. "How did this get here?" He wondered, concluding that she must have spilled some blood from her bruise. He ignored the blood and went over to the small bookshelf standing behind the vase

Embracing the Devil

Embracing the Devil

Then I got back to my research again browsing through criminal cases described in news articles and web forums. An hour passed and I was tired of reading bloody stories that got me nowhere near something I could use in the novel, so I began to grumble on one of the mystery-crime forums. “Help me out. Have you heard of any interesting murder case nowadays? I swear, I’m not a psycho, I’m a writer begging for an inspiration,” I hoped that sounded convincing enough. No one was answering. I’d waited for an hour and got little bit frustrated. I was about to get back to my previous way of research but then someone replied.

Marrying My Ex for Revenge

Marrying My Ex for Revenge

The bookstore smells like it always has—old paper, lavender sachets tucked between shelves, the faint metallic tang of the ancient radiator that clanks every twelve minutes. Elena's already in our corner when I arrive. Second floor. Mystery section. The window seat we claimed sophomore year when we discovered this place and decided civilized people read mysteries in natural light. She's got coffee. Two cups. Mine's still steaming. I take it without speaking. Sip. Perfect. "Ten minutes late." Elena doesn't look up from the window. "Parallel parking a moving truck on Seventh?"

A Murderer's Luck

A Murderer's Luck

“Who would put mint in a popcorn?” “I would,” Thomas intervened, shrugging. “Just to know what it tastes like.” “I’ll tell you what it tastes like: weird and not delicious.” “Shh! Shut up. The movie’s starting,” Leia shushed. Alice finally found peace when the movie started. It was a mystery where the detective was being played by a serial killer, leaving small clues in each of his victims. Alice liked mystery movies and comic books. It tickled her mind just like how science experiments did. It was a puzzle for her, a puzzle that was screaming and begging to be solved. However, she knew that it was different for murder cases. It was much more complicated.

The Final Cut

The Final Cut

“But we’re not leaving them any clues and how can they work out what really happened if we don’t actually know ourselves.” “Look, it’s like Sacheverell Sitwell said . . . ” “Not this old quote again, you got that from Cold Hand in Mine. I read Aickman too you know.” “Good for you, doesn’t mean it doesn’t bear repeating. ‘In the end it is the mystery that lasts and not the explanation.’” “Why can’t we just have a proper ending for once?”

Escape

Escape

If he can see every move I make, how will I ever make a move against him? During my rampage of a small bookshelf on the wall next to the bed, I find classic books such as, The Catcher in the Rye, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, and so on. Spotting amongst the classics a leather bound book with no title or author. I slowly open it and inside handwritten pages are revealed. May 12th 1998

The Alpha's Fight for His Omega

The Alpha's Fight for His Omega

He was going to be graduating a few months after Jessie, and I. I enjoyed getting to know so much about him. He was a nice guy, and seemed really good for Jessie. She was funny, and quirky, but not in the way Norm was. She was the queen of one liners, and could think of something on the spot. I was a little surprised to find out she enjoyed books about murder mysteries though. She said she liked trying to figure out who did it. Her favorite series was about a human woman who was a coroner. Not exactly my type of books, but I made note of the series to tell Rowen about it. He might like it.

Author has responded, this book is NOT continued on another app. I went back to try and find it on that app but it is now gone from my library. This IS the full book and is not continued elsewhere. Sorry that I misspoke. Loved this story & wish author had more books to enjoy.

THE MAFIA AND THE ARTIST

THE MAFIA AND THE ARTIST

he smiled mischievously, humour in his expression, and she felt a sudden warmth spread through her, seeing a side to him that was endearing. “What is your favourite book Genevieve ?” he asked her as he put a piece of bread and cheese in his mouth. “I tend to read books on ghosts and things like that.” He laughed, “Why?” “I guess it’s the mystery of the unknown, the fascination of whether it’s true or not.” “I see what you mean. Everyone loves a good mystery don’t they? Especially to things that we can never really know the truth about.” He looked at her perceptively. Again she felt as though his words held hidden meaning and guilt flooded her at the thought of her true intentions.
