"Hey Em," Bryson whispered, pulling me out of my thoughts. "Yeah?" I murmured. His eyes fluttered down, gazing at my lips. "What would you think of me if I reject my fated one for the one who had my heart for years?" His question made my brain freeze. Where did this even come from? "If you want I can reject you now and you can find your second chance." "What?" Dylan again tried to grab my arm and I dodged, I knew that the closer, the more touching, the stronger the bond would get and I didn't want that. "If you do this, you will die!" Fate was a jerk, who would not accept being challenged, if someone rejected his first chance, then he might find his second, but if for whatever reason there was one more rejection, then that person would die and there was no known case where anyone had survived.

I frowned up at him and stepped back from his arms, irritation and anger showing plain on my face. “Jax, the man killed my mother, ripped her throat out. I saw him do it. No matter how much the bond tries to bring us closer I will never overlook that fact.” I spoke clearly and evenly, his face softening as he realized the truth in my words. “Yes I’ve seen things in him I did not expect to see and if I’m being honest, I would accept him based on what I’ve seen if he was anyone other than the man who killed my mother. But he’s not and despite the fact it’s going to hurt me a lot, I will reject him when the time comes.”

We may have our fated ones, but we can still reject them, and for those rejected, Fates may offer another chance. Then again, we may accept what the Fates are giving us, but we may reject that gift as well.”

I was thankful for his feelings and sad at the same time because I couldn’t reciprocate them. “And I knew it was wrong to love the Queen of the Alpha King,” he added, lowering his head and smiling faintly. “So, can you reject me now?” Regis waited long years to say what his heart desires. Sorrowfully, I have to end it. “I, Elizabeth, the Queen of the Lunas and the wife of the Alpha King reject you, Regis of Green Forest Pack.” His golden eyes misted, but still, he did not fail to show me a smile.
