I wanted to rip the mask off, to let him see the monster and the woman, and to lose myself in the heat of his embrace. But as his fingers moved toward the silk ribbons at the back of my head, a cold splash of reality hit me. I am a murderer, I reminded myself. I am an impostor in a dead girl's palace. He is a man of the South, a man of secrets. If I let him see me—truly see me—I would lose the only armor I had left. The power of my eyes was my greatest weapon, but my mask was my greatest shield. Just as his fingers brushed the knot of the ribbon, I grabbed his wrist. My grip was unnaturally strong, fueled by the desperation of a cornered animal.

She clapped her hands as she exclaimed, "That's it, we're going to prep ourselves for tomorrow! Jennet lowered her hand and eyed Marvina, who had rummaged through her luggage. "What are you doing?" She asked. "Ta-da, the ultimate face mask that's going to bring back our youth overnight!" Marvina showed a packet of beauty face masks to her. Jennet heaved a sigh. "I'll pass," she said and then, placed the hair dryer back on the table. She went to the bed, about to get ready to sleep.

A few screams reached her ears. Jenna slowly opened her eyes to see the rent boy she had mistakenly recognized being kicked out of the way. The scene was chaotic as he crashed into several women and a group of people fell to the ground as everyone around them ran away. Jenna looked up, her legs propped up on the back of the couch in a lopsided position, and fell backward to see another masked Mr. Slave! He wore a mysterious, ethereal half-mask, and his slender, upright figure looked haughty and forlorn in the brilliant light.

Richard buried his face in the crook of Joshua’s neck, inhaling so sharply it sounded like a growl. "Richard, get off me!" Joshua shoved at the man’s chest, but it was like trying to move a mountain. "Shut up," Richard rasped. He was shaking. His nose dragged along the sensitive skin behind Joshua’s ear, sniffing aggressively, desperately. "That scent... that chemical smell you wear. It’s a mask. Why?" "It’s a suppressant patch, you idiot. I’m a doctor."

It covered my eyes and the bridge of my nose, looking more like something from a masquerade than a kitchen. "Monsieur Jean-Pierre," Julian said, appearing in the kitchen doorway. He looked sharp in a tuxedo, though his face still carried the scowl of a man who didn't trust anything with a French accent. "Why are you wearing a mask? The theme is 'Silver Rose,' not 'Phantom of the Opera.'"

They wore a mask, so they wouldn’t attract attention while getting inside the location. Rieska wore a swirling black gown accented with silver, her dark mask sculpted like a raven, covering the upper half of her face. She let her hair flowed loosely with small braids on each side of her ear. And Zenus in his black armor and mask of a black panther. His twin swords were resting on his back. In comparison, Eleand chose a high collar black jacket with gold embroidery. His delicate gold mask carved a dragon’s head. He was confident in his faerie form minus the wings.

Zen said calmly and carefully as he knew his boss's niece is not someone anyone could trifle with "Hmph, learn your places, cross my path again, and I'll gladly make you disappear," He coldly stated and went to Dr. Zen's side. "I'm sorry about this incident," Dr. Zen said calmly as he noticed his boss's niece started walking away. "Dr. Zen, who is that guy? How can he waltz in here?" An employee asked curiously "He is the boss's niece," Dr. Zen said while looking at Midnight's figure fading away towards the shadow. "He's Midnight Hidalgo," said Dr. Zithea, who appeared out of nowhere. To be continued

She danced and mingled with ease, while I found solace at the bar, sipping on a drink and watching the partygoers from afar. As the night progressed, I found myself feeling more at ease with the party's anonymity. The masks allowed me to forget about my past and embrace the mystery and intrigue of the night. But that all changed when I saw him - a tall, dark stranger, dressed in a black suit and mask. He stared at me, making me feel uncomfortable. I quickly averted my gaze, pretending to be interested in my drink, but he approached me nonetheless. "Hey there, beautiful. May I have this dance?" he asked, his voice smooth and low.

Like she was empty of tears. "The mask was a gift from my mom, someone I thought I lost long before I lost my dad, I survived with an injury on my face that the doctors said would scar me. Everyone hated me after that, for taking away their alpha, for being weak and ugly." Lennox's hand came around her and held her close as she exposed more of herself. "The mask was a way of hiding my face so I don't disgust people but more than that it was what helped me stay close to my parents even when the wound was gone, I couldn't be without the mask."

I stumbled on something or………. So I thought but no it was someone.closing my eyes ,expecting to fall,but I didn’t instead I felt a strong arms pulling me close .curious to know ,who didn’t freak out due to my ugliness, I opened my eyes and saw him. THE MASK GUY that doesn’t associate himself with anyone.he likes been alone just like me but the difference is that he hates people associating with him he usually shun them to stay away from him but me ,no one wants to come close to where I am .
