I'd been dumb enough to think it was meant for me. "Cece, I'm gonna give you a birthday you'll never forget," he announced, loud enough for the whole world to hear. Then he yanked the tab off a soda can and handed it to me. "Lulu, those gaudy things don't suit you. You deserve something unique." He slid the can tab onto my finger—his version of a proposal. Cecilia got the dream birthday. I got a piece of trash and a slap of reality. Later, when he found out I was marrying someone else, he got down on one knee with that same ring and begged me to say yes.

My heart ceased to beat in my chest. "A--alpha Kane!" I squeaked, shock plastered all over my face. I didn’t care that I was standing in the centre of the so-called celebrations. The slap rang throughout the room and burned my cheek. “You can’t reject me! You are nothing!” I could see the battle raging inside him and at that moment hatred won. But the words had been spoken. He could either accept them or he could try to chase after me! His Beta took a step closer and whispered something in Liam’s ear before he nodded. “I, Liam, Alpha of the crescent moon pack, accept your rejection and exile you from the pack! You will be stripped of what little rank you might have had. The warriors will make sure that you take nothing of value and they will escort you out of our territory!” His eyes flashed with hatred.

"I thought you loved me?" Tears stream down her cheeks as she barges into her supposed alpha boyfriend, having sex with another woman right on the bed. Seeing their naked body, she feels like a dagger is thrust into her heart. "How dare you barge into my room like that? Are you out of your mind?" Alpha Ren roars at her without shame as he stands on his feet, naked. His eyes burns in rage. "What gave you the right..." He winced a little, but his arms did not slacken their hold, rather they tightened slightly.
