She dodged, ducked, but she was losing ground.
“Having trouble, monster?” she shouted.
“You’re not even worth my blade,” he sneered.
I joined her.
Together, we stood.
Tamar looked past us to the rubble where Raven had fallen.
He took a step back.
Behind him, twenty Horax remained. Burned. Bloody. Fearful.
They ran to him.
They formed a half-circle.
Nyra and the Cast-Outs surrounded me. Ready.
Tamar smiled knowingly.
“You’re strong, Moon Goddess’ incarnate,” he said. “I hope we meet again.”
