Xavier… what is he?” Celeste smiled faintly, her gaze distant. “He is what he was born to be, a protector, a leader. A man far older in soul than in years.” “That’s not an answer,” I said softly, half-smiling. “Why does he seem so powerful? So… untouchable? Is he even real?”
