"We have her here." Then his tone shifted, harsher. "Hey, bitch. You can’t bail on us."

A satisfactory smirk formed on his lips but it quickly vanished when the arm of the robot regenerated. “ What!” He half yelled and Alvara and Hudson watched in dismay, their jaw dropped open. A robot grabbed Ben by his arm, flinging him off as he crashed on the wall. “ Dad!” Hudson yelled. Another robot grabbed Leriel by the neck, marking a cut on his neck but it wasn’t that deep. Blood rolled down as Leriel struggled to break free from its grip but the robot held his neck tighter, sending him to the wall too. Uncontrollably rage ran through Hudson and Alvara.

AI3 responded as I felt one horrible emotion creeping. "Wow! Just wow!" He indeed left nothing of it. I stared speechlessly and angrily at CA2 which had no good part in her body. Everywhere has been deformed, her head wasn't even standing correctly. The hands are not hanging like that of Zombies that I see in movies. "That mother fucking bastard actually did this to my baby" I laughed angrily. "CA2, Call out your protection video" I instructed as it malfunctioned while bringing out her protection video. The protection video is the video which is automatically turned on when the Robots are being attacked especially the ones sold out to customers.

The boy exhaled. “S.O.S. core... still unresponsive,” he muttered. “Maybe next time.” The boy reached for the camera, but before he could turn it off, the robot stirred. The movement was slight—a twitch of a hand, the faintest tilt of the head. The boy froze, his eyes wide. The video ended abruptly. Emerson stared at the blank screen, his heart racing. The boy’s desperation, his unwavering drive—it was haunting. The tablet buzzed: Charging: 25%. Orange bar.

Grabbing a steel rod as thick as my wrist, I brought it down on the machine in a hail of blows. "No!" Adrian lunged, but security, who was ready for this, pinned him in place. Helpless, he could only watch as I smashed the bot to pieces, muttering over and over, "System, I won’t change, I won’t change it…"

After washing Layla and drying her, Avery went to check on Robert. Robert had already come out of the shower and had changed into new pajamas. He had seemingly recovered, except that the skin on his neck was still red. "Mommy, look!" Robert had already forgotten about the unpleasant experience earlier. He had slept for a while inside the car and felt extremely energetic. He held the toy robot that Hayden had bought him and showed it to Avery. "Hayden bought this for me. This robot can transform! It's super cool!" Robert said as he took out the remote controller to control the robot.

He had this surprise that would make you speechless. I decided to go upstairs to take a shower. Ethan and Bobby were left downstairs in the kitchen, taking care of the goods he bought. While scrubbing my legs, I heard Bobby’s whispers echo throughout the house. I immediately went out of the bathroom and rushed down to the kitchen to see what was happening. I kneeled down on the floor to stoke his beaten paw. I heard footsteps coming toward us, and I saw Ethan, who stopped when he saw us.

I quickly finished my coffee, now in haste, and looked for the kid. He was now back in the candy aisle. I cautiously walked towards the unsuspecting kid. It caught my eye and it seems the boy’s, too, since I caught him also looking at it. “You want that?” I crouched and took the toy robot. He looked at me in surprise. Two pairs of caramel brown eyes met; one languid and tired, the other innocent and bright. But both… both have looked at the same woman with love in their eyes.

"Next time anything like this happens, you'll be sent to clean the mine toilets. You have a decent job, but it won't be yours if you continue making such mistakes." Bobby doesn't say a word. Instead, he sniffles. When I look closely, I see tears rolling down his cheeks. He's crying, and it clearly didn't start now, judging by how puffy his eyes already are. I push my chair back and walk toward him, taking the tray from his hands and placing it on the table. "Hey," I say, holding his hand. "Are you okay?" He shakes his head slowly, wiping his cheeks with the back of his free hand.
