Izzy’s footsteps echoed slightly as they found their seats right in the center. “What are we watching?” she asked, setting down her drink. “You’ll see,” he said, pressing a small remote on the armrest. The lights dimmed, and the opening credits began to roll. It was a romantic comedy… light, funny, the kind of movie Izzy wouldn’t have expected Dominic to pick. She turned to him with a smile. “You? Watching a rom-com?” He smirked faintly, not looking away from the screen. “Don’t make a big deal out of it.”

I positioned the other behind her head, resting it on the back of the sofa, my fingers brushing against the loose strands of her messy bun. A few minutes passed. The movie was playing on the screen, but I didn't absorb a single scene. The melancholic soundtrack and drawn-out dialogues were wearing me out. I sighed, tilting my head slightly to the side. I swear I was going to behave. Really. But did Luna really have to choose a romantic comedy with no comedy and no romance? I leaned in slowly, my lips finding her shoulder, resting on that patch of skin escaping the robe strap. I pressed a kiss there. And another. And then another, with a little more intention.

I have nothing to do at home and I have no clue what time Liam would possibly get back from his meeting. "What movie is it?" I query eyeing him. Evans beams, "It's good. Its highly recommended and with good ratings" I shake my head and smile at him. "It better be good" Minutes after, I am seated comfortably on the couch before the thirty two inches television getting ready to watch a movie titled 'Hello Goodbye and Everything in between' "A romance comedy" I say the corner of my lips twitching with mockery. Evans chuckles, "You love it. I love it too. And It's the one thing we have in common" he explains, dumping a large bowl of popcorn before me then setting

Isn’t this easier? “Ah… what type of romance?” she asked. He adjusted on the chair facing her somewhat. He was now staring at her properly. OMG! All his attention on her now. No… she was just flattering herself. * “any type of romance.” he said. Isn’t that question weird? He thought. “what do you mean any type. Including oldies romance?” “gross, do I look desperate?” he scoffed. She laughed and hit his shoulder lightly still laughing. What is funny again?

I say, immediately supplying the name of the old sitcom we’ve all watched a thousand times, smiling softly because I absolutely love that he loved this show. “Yeah, that one was the best one,” he says, nodding like it’s a fact. “The girls were…really nice to each other, and so supportive, and so funny. And I learned about…boyfriends and girlfriends and dating. And what mates were. And with movies, I liked…um, what do you call them? Romedies…?” “Romantic comedies?” I offer. “Romcoms?”

I argued. “That’s what makes it exciting, plus it’s not real,” he replied. "It doesn't matter! For the purpose of the movie, it is very much real." Adriano sighed, clearly frustrated with me. “I’m still not watching a chick movie.” “A rom-com is not a chick movie. It’s just laid back and relaxed compared to what you want to subject me to,” I replied. “It’s just a bunch of people acting silly because they’re in love and laughing about it,” he said.

They started poked around my room, making fun of my movie choices on the laptop. "Wait a minute," Mark said, pointing at the screen. "You guys watched The Fast and the Furious? Just the two of you? In the dark?" "It was on the recommended list," I muttered. "Man, look at this," Swiss laughed, nudging Mark. "They’ve got the food, the movies, the matching pajamas... You guys are like an old married couple. You traded Chloe in for a defender?" The room went cold. I felt Jax go stiff behind me.

So, I pick some movie that looks like it won’t be scary. “Rom com. Nice!” Xander says when I make my choice. “What’s rom com?” I ask. “Romantic comedy. No horror, it's a sweet, romantic style movie.” “Oh, I can pick something else, it doesn’t have to be a romance…” I start to say. “It’s fine. 50 First Dates is a good one.” “Okay.” Xander sets us up in his room, pulling his love seat in front of his bed so we could sit and watch the movie rather than laying on his bed which would have been very uncomfortable for me.

But as we started chatting and sipping our drinks, all my worries disappeared. "So, what's your favorite movie?" He asked me. I looked at me, a mischievous twinkle in my eye. "Oh, you know, just your typical romantic comedy. Something with a happy ending." He grinned. "Ah, so you're a sucker for a good love story?" I shrugged, a coy smile playing at the corners of my lips. "Maybe. Or maybe I just like seeing two people overcome all the odds and fall in love." He nodded, taking a sip of his drink. "I hear ya. There's nothing quite like a good rom-com to make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside."

“So, what kinda things are you in to? Action, horror, comedy?” I noticed he didn’t give me the option of romance. Was he telling me something subtly? His behaviour so far had told me that he could be romantic. Taking me out for dinner and insisting on paying was pretty romantic…wasn’t it? Maybe I was reading too much into this. Perhaps he just didn’t like romantic films. A lot of guys didn’t. I decided my adrenaline couldn’t cope with rising any higher than it already was, so action and horror were out. “Comedy?”
