Sandy’s POV Our honeymoon was coming to an end. After spending days, having the time of our lives, we were going back to reality, at least, that was what my brain termed it as. What Anthony and I had here was simply a fantasy. Everything that had gone on since we arrived here was all because of responsibility and our new rule in the contract binding our new lives.

The photos of a sunny beach with attractive blue seawater and a setting sun at the end of the horizon. “The sea?” I said in wonder. It wasn’t a bad choice. It was clearly a classic yet classy destination for a honeymoon. I flipped through the pages that contained both photos and word descriptions of what they had planned for us. “A private tropical island paradise…” I read out loud in case Bradon was wondering where it was that we were going to be sent together.

Crying at the top of my lungs, I shouted, "Dear, why did it take you so long to get here? I've been searching everywhere for you!" … Under the eerie night sky, the elderly town mayor, George Porter, leaned on his cane and slowly addressed us, "Tonight is Ximena Ferguson's wedding. Dear guests, you wouldn't want to miss it." He paused, lowering his voice. "At 9:00 pm, the ceremony will be held at the manor. As for your wedding gifts…" The corners of his mouth curled up into a strange smile. "Each of you will offer one sacrifice. A human sacrifice."

Elena and Julian’s honeymoon on a secluded private atoll was pure paradise. Turquoise waters, white sand beaches, and a luxurious overwater villa gave them complete privacy to explore their new marriage without the pressures of the outside world. Joseph felt the wind knocked out of him as he heard the whistle followed by the loudest sound he's ever heard in all his 16 years under the Tau Ceti sun. A whiz and BOOM. Whiz and BOOM. Explosion after explosion came pummeling down onto them. An unending barrage of terrifying heat and sound and fireball crashed all around them. Joseph covered his face as clods of disturbed earth pelted and rained down on him. His screams were drowned out by the loud thunders. It went on forever. Until it didn't. Then it stopped. He heard nothing afterwards except the constant ringing in his ear.
