I run my hand up and down his necked chest and pull him closer so that he can give me my goodnight kiss. The kiss which is supposed to short and simple turns into a long passionate kiss filled with desire and love. I wish I could kiss all his pain away. He pulls back from the kiss and looks me in the eyes. "Sleep," he commands and I nod. God knows how late it is. I hope I can make back home in time tomorrow. Anyway, that shouldn't bother me right now. I rest my head in his chest and cuddle up in his embrace. I shouldn't have asked him to tell me the story tonight because all I dream of when I close my eyes is Werewolves fighting Vampires.

I would be damned if I only instructed them and left. For a million years, my order would only accumulate dirt, as Ethan and Ezra would bury themselves in their video games and Emily would baby Penny. “Mum, tell us a bedtime story.” Ezra pleaded. Defeated, I began my tale of the legendary Wolf's King and his Luna. It happened to be their favourite story, and they never grew weary of it. In less than ten minutes, they were all fast asleep, like wasted adults. I tucked them into bed and watched them sleep for a while before turning off the light.

Royce chuckled. Viviana sighed and said, "Never mind, let Evelin and Layne be the flower children together, I'll just deliver the ring." She yawned and said, "Mom and Dad, Viviana is a little tired and wants to go to sleep." "Okay, close your eyes and go to sleep quickly." "Could you tell Viviana a story, Mom?" Mya sighed and said, "Let me tell the baby." Her soft voice, with a hint of nasal tone, told Viviana about "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland".

“Would you tell me a story? My friend Dustin says his mom and dad tell him stories every night, but no one will tell me a story.” My heart melted hearing his request, and I smiled. “Of course, Liam. And you are in luck. I know so many stories.” I picked him up in my arms. “Really?” he said excitedly, burying his head in my neck, making me sigh in content. “Yay.” I tucked him into his bed. I began weaving a tale about a courageous knight who embarked on an epic adventure to save a kingdom from a fearsome dragon. Liam’s eyelids grew heavy as he listened to the tale, and soon he was fast asleep.

“I’ll tell you lots of stories until you fall asleep.” Her little nod nestled into the crook of my neck. And just like that, my world stopped spinning. I tucked her into bed beside me, wrapping the covers around her small frame. She curled into the pillow with expectant eyes, and I began to speak—spinning a tale about brave princesses who conquered beasts with the power of kindness, about noble knights who protected those who couldn’t protect themselves. As I spoke, her eyelids began to droop. Her breathing slowed. The weight of the day finally began to lift from my shoulders, replaced by the soft, rhythmic rise and fall of her chest beside me.

I settle beside him and begin to read the story immediately. The story is a sweet, simple tale of a brave knight and his journey to protect his kingdom. As I read, his eyes droop, as his little hands clutch the stuffed wolf tighter. Soon enough, he’s asleep, his breathing soft and even. I lean down, brushing a kiss against his forehead. “Goodnight, little prince.” This moment feels me with undescribable joy in my heart. As I step out of the room, I almost run into Stacy by the door. She looks at me, an odd mix of surprise and something else in her gaze. “You’re done?”

She cuddled into him again waiting for him to narrate. Kayden couldn't help but smile at her innocent request, his heart swelling with affection as he caressed her back with gentle strokes. Despite the exhaustion weighing heavily on his shoulders, there was a sense of joy in knowing that he could bring comfort and solace to his beloved wife, even in the simplest of ways. "Hmm... a story of Handsome and the female beast," he replied, his voice soft and soothing as he began to weave a tale to lull her to sleep.

The pale crescent moon shone like a silvery claw in the night sky. Taking a deep breath, Romam sauntered out of his room. He made his way to the kids room. The door was ajar so he could see Rose telling the twins a bed time story. A smile crawled up to Roma's lips as he saw his twins laugh at the imitation Rose was making while telling the story.

Just as he approached a room’s doorway, he heard Tina and Kara’s conversation drifting from inside the room. “Tonight’s bedtime story is called ‘Tadpoles Searching for Their Mommy.’ The warm spring is here… A bunch of little tadpoles want to look for their mommy… After overcoming all the obstacles, the little tadpoles finally found their froggy mommy. Together, they lived happily ever after…” Tina’s tone was gentle as she read the bedtime story out loud from the storybook to her daughter. Kara lay in her arms, her heavy eyelids already glued together. She struggled to say, “The little tadpoles are very pitiful… I won’t be separated from you, Mommy… Even if we do get separated, I’ll find you

"Time for you to get some sleep." "Can you tell me a story?" she asked, her voice already thick with approaching dreams. I smiled down at her, feeling that powerful surge of love that never ceased to overwhelm me. "What story would you like to hear tonight?" "The one about the princess who saved herself," she mumbled sleepily. My heart squeezed. It was a story I'd made up for her—a tale about a female wolf who didn't need rescuing, who found her own strength when everyone else had abandoned her.
