Even Mrs. Thompson dropped her cleaning cloth and ran out. So this was the charm of the first love! The front door slowly opened. A middle-aged, elegant woman appeared before us. She was indeed beautiful enough to be someone’s first love. However, her age didn’t quite match. “Mom, welcome home.” David stood up to greet her.

“I love you, Isayanna.” The words come out of nowhere, and I freeze. In the blink of an eye, Romeo is standing in front of me, his hands reaching out to stroke my cheeks. I flinch, but he does not seem to notice. His eyes are intense, almost desperate, as they lock onto mine. “I love you deeply,” he continues, his voice low and urgent. “I want to make you mine. That rich boy does not love you. He just loves the fact that he can use you anytime with a sweet word or the promise of some monetary benefit…”

~ NATALIA ~ I recognized that pair of eyes the moment they met my eyes. How could I not recognize it when those eyes were the reason for whatever I had been feeling. I had fallen for those eyes that I could recognize even in the crowd of a million people. Those were the eyes of Romeo Velasquez. However, I have learned to pacify my feelings for the man who was born with such a pair of eyes. I did have feelings for him, but he was playing his part so well that those feelings are turning into hate with every breath.

She might have hated us before we were born but I personally experienced her love while growing up. She loved every one of us like her own. And maybe that's why I grew close with Roberto. He couldn't move so would usually stay put but he had a bad temper and would throw tantrums occasionally.

He placed his phone face-down on the table, still grinning, and picked up the dice. “Gladly.” He rolled. The dice bounced once… twice… then landed on a neutral square. Normal question. Lucky bastard. He grabbed a card and read it out loud. “What ended your feelings for your first love?” Nero blinked. For a moment, he actually looked surprised. Then he snorted softly. “Hard to answer,” he said casually. “I’ve never had a first love.” Romeo immediately let out a sharp hollow laugh. “Not true.” Nero’s head snapped toward him, eyes narrowing.

Then the crash and the tortured breathing. Phoebe did not want to admit it just yet but Romeo was the best lay she had ever had.And she who had just wanted a one night stand with a stranger to help her forget her frustrations was now thinking of ways to make sure he remained her lover.
