Inside the bond, I felt a flicker. A spark of gold amidst the grey. I grabbed onto it and pulled. With a violent gasp, Ronan’s eyes snapped open. He dropped the sword, the steel clattering against the stone, and he fell to one knee, heaving as if he had just emerged from deep water.
