RHEA I just saw them again, not just the wrist grab, not the shove against the wall, but the moment the world bent around them. I stood in the shadowed edge of the classroom doorway as my breath caught somewhere between the lungs and my pride. It was supposed to be over. That was the point of the last few years, Ronan was supposed to pull away, Kieran was supposed to forget. That was the plan, but look at them being pulled towards each other, like mating fireflies.

It didn’t end because we wanted it to. It ended because Professor Zimmer came into the greenhouse with a load of potion herbs, and nearly dropped them all when she saw our shadows plastered together against the glass. Ronan and I flung apart like we’d been snapped by competing magnets, sending a tray of moonvine clippings crashing to the floor. She raised a brow, huffed something about idiot wolves thinking her lab was a mating den, and told both of us to fuck off before she cursed us to a lifetime of erectile dysfunction.

Hermione tends to go off track whenever she has a confrontation with her mother. I've witnessed two instances where Hermione lost her temper after confronting her mother. The first time, she drove recklessly, causing me concern as I trailed her. The second time, I was the target of her aggression, until she eventually came to terms with her reality and found the courage to stand up to her mother. Given her history with Mrs. Pierce's overbearing nature, Hermione strikes me as a resilient individual. Many would have been broken by her mother's behavior, which tends to dominate and disregard Hermione's decisions.

“I mean, we wolves were poorly represented in the novel but I still love the book.” Akira looked up to Orion with a knowing smile, “I bet I know your favourite catchphrase from the books?” Orion stopped in his tracks, he loved moments like this with his little human, “I am listening.” “Ten points from Gryffindor…” Akira yelled, channeling her inner Snape. Orion looked at her with admiration And surprise in his eyes, “and how did you figure that out?” Akira who was still trying to catch her breath raised her index finger, she caught her breath and replied, “that spell did not only reveal things about me.”

I muttered, cringing from the sudden brightness. A flurry of voices reached my ears. Two, specifically. I pressed my cheek against the wall and peered through the almond-shaped hole. Surprise had me gasping. I slapped a hand over my mouth to muffle the sound. I was staring into Orion’s study, the same room he’d performed the spell that nearly blasted my mind to shreds. He and Azrael were in the middle of a heated conversation. Draco stood off to the side, looking bored and fed up with their shit. He had a very expressive face for a wolf.

Some thing was about to happen; she could sense it. Beside her, her loyal companion, a majestic black wolf named Luna, her grandmother, exhibited a restlessness of her own. The fur on her back stood on end, her keen eyes scanning the surroundings with an intensity matching Emily's own unease. Luna Malfoy had always been attuned to Emily's emotions, and now her wolf instincts seemed to amplify the growing strangeness in the air.

“I, Draco Riordan, take you, Luna Granger, as my wife, to have and to hold, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health. I promise before God and these witnesses to always love and cherish you, until death do us part.”

“Oh look, the great Hermoine. Thought she was going to be Luna. Thought she was going to marry Salvatore. Now she’s nothing.” Hermoine’s eyes narrowed. “Seriously,” Marisa said. “You were so proud. Acting like you were better than everyone. And now? You’re just rubbish. He’s marrying Elena. Not you.” “Shut up,” Hermoine snapped. “Truth hurts, doesn’t it?” Marisa smirked. Hermoine looked at me then. “Percy, I know what’s been happening between you and Ron.” My heart jumped. “What?” “I know,” she said calmly. “I’ve known for a while. I can help you.”

Hera is wagging her tail with tears draining from her eyes. Orion stands warily and looks around until his eyes seek for Delaney’s and the moment they land on hers, his rigid human form softens, she nuzzles his face and licks his nose with her huge tongue. He returns the love by wrapping his huge arms around her neck. Valeria and I smile. He backs away from Delaney slightly and begins to glow GOLD!! I thought we were only healing him? What is happening?

I hold it to my mouth, keeping my eyes on him. A sharp smirk crosses his face. “Yeah, figured.” I bite into the strawberry on purpose, and watch his jaw tighten like he’s fighting a losing battle. I smile around it. “See? Stress relief.” He leans in closer, his hands brushing my scalp. “You’re gonna be the end of me, Hermione.” He leans in and bites into the strawberry I’m holding. We both chew it into each other’s mouths, exchanging fluids, and it's a slow, sweet rush.
