Alpha Ronin proved to be a formidable warrior, even in human form. The two men continued their battle. Ivan tried to get to me, but Ronin prevented this and kept him at bay. I doubted Ivan would hurt me, but he was so far gone that I didn’t know what he would do. “Ivan!” I screamed, but he did not listen. They wrestled around on the ground, biting and clawing at each other. Ivan was an enormous wolf, and Ronin was holding his own; even for an Alpha wolf, he was struggling to keep the upper hand. Ronin threw a punch across Ivan’s temple just as Ivan bit down on Ronin’s shoulder. A loud wailing cry sounded across the lawn as Ronin fell to his side, whimpering. He is loyal to his pack and is yet to find his mate. When the warriors of the Blue moon pack heard his words, they looked at him expectantly.

Then footsteps approached slowly through the destroyed tunnel beyond the smoke. Heavy. Controlled. Dangerous. The Raven Crest leader’s face visibly tightened. “No…” Silver-black energy flooded the corridor first. Then Ronan emerged from the smoke. Blood covered parts of his body while unstable Lunar energy spiraled violently beneath his skin. His silver eyes no longer looked fully human now. Cracks of glowing energy spread across his arms like fractures barely containing the wolf beneath. And the terrifying part— He wasn’t looking at the soldiers. He was staring only at Aria.

I said, unhooking my waist belt. I turned to face my pack. They were focused on rebuilding the walls that were destroyed during the last attack. I could see the disdain on their faces, the anger they felt over my last request. But they failed to see the truth, I'm the reason why the goddess's favour had rested upon us. “All of you,” I said, my gaze travelling across the courtyard. “I'm sure you all have heard the most recent news. Ronin, a former brother-in-arms, is dead. He was killed by the Blackthorne Alpha after he left our lands to negotiate our stand,” I said, moving a few paces forward.

While his mate will not survive without him. “Aragorn, I have heard that name before. One of the stories my father had told me growing up.” Ronin says as Dell seems to be staring off into space. “Yes.” I say finally finding my voice. “Aragorn is the Lycan that was sent to us during the very first war. He was the reason why peace was found. Ending Valakors reign of terror.” I say as Dell becomes even whiter than before. “I can’t…. I can’t….” Dell says jumping up. Ronin catches his hand before he can run to the room where his daughter is at. Tabby rushes towards her daddy. Blocking his way. “Daddy, you have to let them be. Didn’t you hear the part where Corbin will not survive without him?”

Ronin opened the door to the confinement room with the key he had obtained from Finn. It was his reward after agreeing to do a favor for the man in the black robe. Once the door opened, Ronin descended slowly. He approached Flash and squatted down in front of him. He lowered his head to scrutinize Flash. Flash was still lying on the ground, his injuries not yet healed. Although spared from death by the man in the black robe, Flash hadn't received any kind treatment.
