He stood there hugging his little notepad or whatever the hell he carried around like a Bible, clutching it to his chest, shaking.
I waved him off. He nodded again and walked out.
I was probably a little too harsh on him, but honestly, I think he’d prefer me snapping at him than what I really had in mind.
Better a sharp tongue than blood on the floor.
But still… I had to be calm about the situation.
As the door shut, I leaned into my seat, dragging my hands through my hair.
“So talk to me, Ted,” I said.
“Yeah,” Ted began. “The Monteverros were the ones behind the last sabotage. The one before Romano got caught.”
