They were humanoid, but twisted. The leader was a man—or what used to be a man—with skin the color of wet clay. His right eye was missing, covered by a crude leather patch, but his left eye glowed with a predatory yellow light. He wore armor made of flattened license plates and held a heavy, rusted iron crowbar wrapped in barbed wire.

As he shakily stepped down onto pavement, the thing stopped flailing and crouched on all fours, glaring at him, growling. The bat had dug a wet, seeping trench in the thing’s right temple, above the eye, exposing rotten, blackened viscera and a strip of gleaming white skull.

Another beam of light penetrated the billowing black cloud. Soon, the Sun-Swallowing King Crow's scream was heard, and its Thousand Souls Corpse Eradicator Banner blasted into pieces. The black feathers on the Sun-Swallowing King Crow's back stood like a hedgehog. Then, the King Crow fell from the mid-air howling. A few spots on its body were bald, and the shapeshifting demon looked extremely miserable and ridiculous.

"You know how to use the scroll! Tell me what to do!" He paused, then slowly removed the mossy metal mask from his face. The sight stopped June’s breath. Two men charged out of the warehouse, tightly on her tail. Choosing this worst moment, Scar steps on a sharp rock and falls to her side. The guy raises the bat in his hand, laughing viciously at her. Scar closes her eyes to embrace the pain, but it doesn’t land--

A sudden memory came to him about earlier as to how Max made him like a punching bag. "This won't do. Before I can kill him, he will kill me first." He whispered. "Keeek!" He screamed in surprise when suddenly a small round bat with one-eyed appeared in front of him. "Sir," It called him. Jubatus immediately covered his mouth to not let out his scream. Then he looked at Max. Max was still busy looking for someone. Fortunately, his scream was buried with the sound of the harpies and minotaurs fighting with the Shadow Moon fighters. He took the small round one-eyed bat and hid together with him.
