I felt as if I was floating in the galaxy, untethered as they zoomed between the Milky Way.
“Do you think we are alone out here?” I asked.
He shrugged. “I don’t know. Probably not.”
I stared at the rings of Saturn, my eyes focused on the colors.
“Sometimes I wish I was up there. Maybe I wouldn’t be alone.” The unspoken, “with Nathan,” part was certainly implied.
“You’re not alone. You’ve got me...and Remy...” he said.
“But, Kai...I...”
“Shh,” he scolded. “You can’t be sad while looking at the beauty of the universe. Otherwise, I’m going to have to take your mind off things.”
