“Walk away, Gryphon,” I said, my voice low and deadly. “This is not your fight.”
“It became my fight when your pet embarrassed me,” he growled, and he charged.
The world narrowed to the space between us. The other two hung back, watching, waiting for an opening.
I met Gryphon’s charge, our bodies colliding with a sound like thunder. He was all brute force, but I was faster, smarter. I used his momentum, twisting, throwing him into one of his companions. They went down in a tangle of limbs.
