I shift my gaze to the frail figure. He doesn’t react, doesn’t even seem to hear us.
His head hangs low, his matted hair obscuring his face. He’s barely clinging to life.
Before I can respond, a voice crackles through unseen speakers, smooth and clinical.

A hiss of pressurized air fills the room. The heavy steel doors slide open, revealing a flood of white coats.
