Clara’s POV The weight of the brown envelope in my bag felt like a lead brick. Inside were the investment documents Kiran had handed me—the "bait" for the trap he was setting. My heart hammered against my ribs as I walked toward the bus stop, every shadow on the street looking like one of Mrs. Victoria’s spies. I looked at my hand. The red mark from the tea had faded into a dull ache, but the memory of Kiran’s cold, dark smile stayed fresh in my mind.

She stood up, walked directly toward the massive, built-in bookshelf that lined the western wall of the office, and reached for the spine of a heavy, leather-bound historical atlas on the third shelf. With a soft, hydraulic hiss, the center section of the heavy wooden bookshelf gave way, pivoting inward on a hidden track to reveal a wide, brightly lit room concealed directly behind the wall. "Step through, please," the secretary said quietly, stepping aside. Caelith caught her breath, her heart hammering against her ribs as she walked past the threshold of the secret room. The heavy bookshelf slid shut behind her with a definitive, solid click, cutting off the sunlight from the executive off

The bureau chief immediately straightened his clothes, leading everyone forward to welcome them, stopping with utmost deference before a Rolls-Royce. The driver respectfully pulled open the car door, and a white-haired elderly man stepped out of the vehicle. Everyone instantly lowered their heads. "Don." Harrison froze. His palms were thoroughly drenched with sweat from nerves over meeting such a powerful figure for the very first time. However, soon the door on the other side opened, and I leisurely stepped out of the car. Harrison snapped his head up, his eyes widening in disbelief.

Behind them lay decades of secrets. Ahead of them waited an island where the truth had first been buried. And somewhere on Black Haven… Claire Novak was already waiting.

Each shelf was filled with books and scrolls that contained pack history and strategies. My eyes scanned the titles absentmindedly as I made my way to the book Lucian had requested. While I was doing that, my eyes caught something peculiar. On the far shelf at the other end of the office, there was a single leather-bound book that stood out. It was named the Pack Secrets. The title alone sparked curiosity, and without thinking, I reached for it. The worn book cover felt cool against my fingers, and something about it felt forbidden and dangerous. “What are you hiding, Lucian?” I whispered under my breath.

I frowned, not liking this. I wanted to ask her what she was doing, and demand an answer. It was my house! I had a right to know. Irritation grew, drinking the water to place the glass down. Her head moved, pretending as if she hadn’t seen me. What was she hiding? I hated secrets, hated liars? I walked back to the room, closing the door to fall back in bed. Ten minutes later I realized my curiously had only gotten worse. I sat up, pulling up my phone and made a call.

That was how they worked, in silent communication and sync, so much so that they never accepted other people to switch or join them. Selena squatted at the end of the hallway by the wall where there was a fluffy door mat and ran her hand through it. Smooth, no lump or irregularities meaning it was either still new or never used. She moved it and smiled at her finding. A tiny key hole. Typical rich people. She thought. They either had a secret something behind a painting or behind a book shelf or under their floor boards. The owner of the house fell under the last category, thus explaining the thick ceiling. She pulled at one of the boards but it didn't budge. Pushing it didn't work out eithe

He explains. “But instead, you made me the CEO because your wife needed content for the book she was writing.” I say, my voice laced with annoyance. “You should read it, it’s called The Deadly Secrets Of The CEO.” He says and my mind goes to the night that we dumped Kate’s body. Jimmy was incredibly drunk and when we was taking him to our building, he was muttering a bunch gibberish in his sleep. But he also said something. Something that didn’t go unnoticed.

She picked up her scarf and walked out of the house. She decided she would just hide in the car and scare him. It will be fun... With that intention, she walked to the elevator, knowing it would take a few minutes for him to reach downstairs to the parking lot. Aarvi opened his car with the help of an extra key and hid in the back seat. Soon Anshuman reached his car and opened the door of it. He did not notice Aarvi’s presence there. Aarvi was about to scare him when his phone went off as he picked up the call.
