Secrets Plain Sight Mga Nobela at Kwento

Okay, so maybe that drawer wasn’t going to hold any secrets she’d be interested in. “Third time is a charm,” Violet whispered and opened the last draw on the left side. “If I was an alcoholic,” she breathed when she saw all that it held was a large wide bottle of something no doubt alcoholic and a couple of glasses. “Damn it,” she said and turned to the right side and opened the first drawer. It was filled with blank paper and note pads. The second jerked with a loud knock as she tried to open it. Locked. Licking her lips, Violet once more glanced back to the door then down at the drawer. The keyhole was obvious. She wasn’t sure how she missed it.

The screen slowly flickers to life, casting a harsh, bright white glow over my face. I take a deep, trembling breath, holding the flash drive in my hand. This is it. The truth. I plug the drive into the USB port. A notification pops up on the screen, and I click it with a shaking finger. The drive contains exactly two folders. One is labeled: The Pearl. The other is labeled: Bachelor Party. My heart climbs completely into my throat. I ignore the security footage and double-click the bachelor party folder. It is filled with dozens of high-resolution digital photographs. I click on the first one.

That's where she is hiding. I look up at Aiden who was sensing my eyes on him, turned around to look at me. Our eyes meet and I can already tell what he's thinking. ‘Be safe,’ he links as he leans down and presses his warm lips against mine and for a second I forget everything and everyone around us. It's just him and I, but then as he pulls away, reality comes crashing down around us. Our whole plan revolved around Zelda being unaware of our presence and I hoped with all my heart that the magic Zac and I had placed on all our warriors and ourselves to conceal our presence would hold out and that we would still have the advantage of a surprise attack.

Selena stated. “First, let’s look for a UV light.” Trisha reached for the drawer, yanking it open. She noticed a light sitting there. She took it and switched it on. “It’s a lot easier than I expected.” She pushed Jade aside and took a step forward to face the book. “Let’s see how this goes.” She turned on the light and shone it on the book, and the words appeared almost immediately. Selena and Jade locked eyes. “You are a genius, Trisha.” Jade exclaimed in delight. They could not believe they had discovered an invisible message. “What does it say?”

She moved to her bag and took out something. “What are you thinking of trying?” “An old trick is to hide the truth in plain sight.” April was juggling things and distracted by her explanation. “Meaning…?” She sigh like it should be obvious. “Hiding a name with names. If this page was protected from tampering by a witch. It might have a larger message that is not obvious to us right now.” “Well, we won’t know unless you try.” “Ivory, Sapphire. I need a drop of your blood.”

A faint frown forms on my lips. “What is this…” I murmur under my breath. I slide a finger under the flap and tear it open. A single white sheet. I pull it out and unfold it. The moment my eyes land on the words, my entire body goes still. I KNOW YOUR SECRET AND THE TRUTH YOU ARE TRYING TO HIDE. AMARA ROOSEVELT. My breath catches. My fingers tremble so violently the paper almost slips from my grip. No. No… no, no…

Nothing is ever taking her from me, ever. **Ruby** "Yes, I'm sorry. I have never told that to anyone, not even Haven." I don't want him to leave. There's something about him that brings out my trust. I know he will keep me safe no matter what. "Do not apologize for how you feel." He kissed my forehead again. My whole body heats up when he touches me. "Haven doesn't know that I’m half shifter, no one knows that either." He was staring into my eyes. It was like he could see all of me, every thought and every secret. I just hope he can't see my most painful secret.

He entered a long code, leaned forward for the scanner to read his eye. A section of the bookcase, smooth and seamless, slid aside with a soft hiss. Behind it was not a room, but darkness. That's where the secrets actually live," Brian breathed, his tone hushed. "The ones that aren't in the archive. The ones that can bring it all down." He glared at Davidson with an inscrutable look. "The key of irrevocability." He reached out and grasped Davidson's, the one with the watch on which the scars were visible. He moved his fingers over the keypad.

She eyed the package with suspicion as she approached. The package was plain and unadorned, wrapped in brown paper and sealed with plain tape. Lena’s pulse quickened as she carefully peeled back the wrapping. Inside, she found a small, unassuming USB drive and a note written in a neat, almost clinical handwriting. The note read: "The truth is closer than you think."

He says. "I don't care. I need to know." I say and move ahead but he holds my hand. "Hey!" "I'm sorry. I don't usually do this. But I cannot tell you. It has to stay a secret." His expressions change into a grave one, his eyes slightly darkening. Gradually they become hazy. Wait. It's not his eyes that are hazy. It's my sight. My eyes all of a sudden feel drowsy and slowly everything darkens away. The air shifts beneath me and I feel sleep covering me. "My apologies. But you know too much." His voice comes from the dark before I hear nothing. Ugh. Not again. **************
