His all fours were slightly shorter than normal wolves, but his tail was really big like a fox, which made him almost impossible to run too fast or be acute in fights. An Alpha wolf can be hideous, ferocious, beautiful, or even disabled, but it can never be cute. “Cute” is just not the word that could be used to describe an Alpha wolf.

We soon reached the point where I saw feral wolves, in no way inferior to those creatures that we fought against in my home magical world. A flock of huge beasts with distraught eyes. Even being a wolf, I would be like a fly to them. And there are five of them. A slow, arrogant, dark smile that looked like it had taken down kingdoms. “He’s not even in my weight category,” I ranted. “He’s not in my species. I’m five foot nothing! I’m emotionally unstable and physically allergic to pain. And I’m wearing a hoodie! That still smells like fabric softener! He looks like he bathes in testosterone and eats wolves for breakfast!” “You are loud,” my wolf muttered in my head, zero support in her tone. “You’re unhelpful,” I hissed back. “This will be good for you.”

I should wield this dagger as long as I could. Five wolves appeared to my right, growling and drooling, and three more to my left with the same approach. These animals don't look like anything from their natural environment. They looked disfigured and beaten. Most of their wounds and lesions are still visible on their bodies, now darkened and rotting emitting a foul smell. None of them have ears intact, with half of it gone or completely ripped off from their heads. Their furs had fallen out, leaving bald patches that showed the dirty scalp.

A magnificent silver wolf, its fur glistening in the morning sunlight, stood tall and proud, its presence radiating power and controlled fury. For a fleeting moment, I thought it might be Nate, a beacon of salvation in our darkest hour. But as the wolf stalked towards the approaching rogues, a strange sense of unease settled in my stomach. This wolf was larger, with a battle-scarred face and piercing blue eyes that held an unsettling familiarity. It wasn’t Mate – but who was it, and why was it helping us?

This is mainly done during the Moon Festival, when packs all over the world meet for the Moon Annual Ball. Rogue wolves are wolves that have given up their humanity. They decide to live more like beasts than humans, meaning they have no sense of right or wrong. These kinds of wolves are usually killed on the spot by packs. They cause nothing but chaos and mayhem. They are recognized by a rotting smell that clings to them.

chapter 11: The Brutal Encounter As the moon cast its silvery glow upon the rugged terrain, the trio of wolves stood before me. One of them, a formidable dark gray wolf, was the largest among them. He abruptly sprinted away, leaving me alone with the other two. "So, he's making you do his dirty work?" I sneered, disdain dripping from my voice. "Imagine the tales you'll pass down to your grandchildren. 'Hey, remember the time we killed Uncle Ray's mate?' You two are nothing but pathetic." My words carried a mixture of anger and defiance, culminating in a defiant spit in the direction of the wolf closest to me.
