SUMMER. The heat of the sun beamed against my face as I slowly opened my eyes to the warmth of the sunlight. He was right beside me with his hands already stroking my hair and I sat up with a smile across my face. “Good morning” I said softly and he heaved. “Morning, Sunshine” Vincent puckered his lips in a way that made me blush lightly. “The brightest of them all” He added. My cheeks were the brightest red of them all.

She opened the door, revealing the gloomy Sunshine standing at her doorstep with a blank expression on her face. "Good morning, Miss Aliyah. Is Nancy awake now? I need to get her to bathe her," Sunshine asked. From the moment they stepped foot into this mansion, Aliyah couldn't help but notice how displeased Sunshine felt, and it made her uncomfortable even though she didn't want to talk about it. Something was not right, her behavior and the way she has been since yesterday was a bit off that she couldn't help but keep questioning herself about what was wrong with this woman.

The morning was breathtaking. The golden sun stretched its radiant arms across the city, kissing the skyscrapers with warmth and illuminating the streets with an ethereal glow. It was as if the world itself had paused, basking in its own reflection. The crisp air carried a promise—of power, of opportunity, of something shifting just beneath the surface. In this house, she lived like a high-end housekeeper. As for me, I barely left my room except to eat. I cleaned out the storage room until it was spotless. I often dragged a chair to the window and sat there for hours, basking in the sun, like an old man waiting for the end. Sometimes Jonathan would pass by my door. When he saw me sitting in the sunlight, he would pause for a moment, but he never said anything.

CHAPTER NINETEEN — OPEN HEARTS The second day of their getaway dawned with golden sunlight spilling over the ocean. Yara awoke to the sound of gentle waves and the faint scent of coffee drifting from the porch. Jamal was already up, sitting with two mugs of steaming tea. He looked up as she emerged from the cabin, smiling softly. “Morning,” he said, handing her a mug. “Morning,” she replied, taking it and letting the warmth seep into her hands.

“Because I already have your Memory Key.” His fingers curled slightly around it. “Anything I want to know, you’ll gladly give me.” He paused. “And did you know this is all a dream?” Rinjani stopped breathing. She looked around. The forest was gone. Now she stood on a hot, sun-drenched beach beneath a blazing midday sky. Far in the distance, more than a dozen men dressed entirely in blue and red were running after a brightly colored yellow ball. “Holy shit. Of course!” Rinjani stared in disbelief.

It can shade you from the sun.” He threw the life-saver at me, and I fumbled, dropped it, and picked it up again trying to keep my composure, but it's no use. Just Ray laughs at everything I do, and now I am the one with warm skin and a red face. The life-saver squeaks open precariously, letting out a long and arduous groan, and Just Ray tells me it's bad luck to open it indoors.

Jasmine Pov: The sunlight directly fall on my face peeking through the drapes of the window, sunlight itself have many advantages, but for me it brings out a new day which should be done with a fresh start, it's rays indicate that the day which consists of bad memories is gone by giving a new ray of hope.
