~~MASSIMO~~ It takes a few days for Seraphina to fully recover from the entire ordeal, and I watch her carefully as the hours and days pass to make sure that she's not falling into a panic or regressing at all. The thing about Seraphina is that she's so unbelievably strong, and she knows it. She tolerates my fussing for about a day and a half before she finally sets me straight, telling me that she's not some wilting flower and that she's not going to suddenly break just because she went through a shitty experience.

Seraphina looks at me, a flicker of something unreadable passing through her gaze. “Because things are shifting. And I don’t like standing on the outside when the world starts moving.” I don’t know what to make of her. Seraphina is dangerous, not in the way Liard is, with his controlled power and ruthless instincts, but in a different way. She is too smart. Too perceptive.

One of the maids that had been avoiding Orion's gaze was about to say something but Seraphina arrived in the middle of their conversation, walking slowly with her bag tightly strapped on her shoulder. “What is going on?” She asked with a sense of confusion, slowly moving her eyes from one of the maids to the other, but due to fear they all took their eyes down, except for the maid who was on the armband, and Seraphina just smiled before moving it to Orion. *Are we celebrating something here?” “I had no idea you do go out everyday,” Orion arched an eyebrow, placing a hand on the closest couch. “Umm…were you going to tell me?”

Her newest post from last night showed her smiling beside flower samples for the upcoming wedding. Eight thousand views. Normally it would have been millions. She refreshed. Nothing changed. Another refresh. Still nothing. Meanwhile every article, every trending topic, every interview clip had shifted. Not Clara. Not the wedding. Not her. Seraphina. Always Seraphina. Even after disappearing for six years. Even after losing everything. She still came back and stole the room. Clara stood suddenly. The chair scraped hard against marble. “You stole my company.” The words came out low.

Seraphina was about to turn around when she heard sounds of footsteps approaching from behind. She quickly jumped to the other side , hiding herself behind a big tree. Seraphina peeped out a little. She could see the image of a maiden in a full cloak , dragging another maiden .

My mind was already back on the screens. I opened my laptop and pulled up the feed from the boutique. Seraphina was leaving now, her arms full of shopping bags. She looked tired, her movements slower than they had been an hour ago. She didn't look back as she got into her car. She didn't look for the silver SUV that was no longer there. She thought she was fighting a war on her own. She thought she was standing in the middle of a battlefield, surrounded by enemies on all sides. She didn't realize that I was already there, in the shadows, moving the pieces for her.

"Is that Seraphina?" I let out a heavy sigh. "Yes." Seraphina is the only pup of a powerful elder who controls the western trade routes and runs heavy business with the Lunar Dominion Network. She decided she loved me a year ago and tracked my scent across the territory for six months until I finally agreed to run with her just to make her stop barking at my heels. It was fine at first. She could actually run fast and speak intelligently about pack laws during the hunts. But by the third moon, everything turned into a nightmare.

“I heard you have returned and I’ve been finding it hard to sleep tonight as it's terribly hot so I decided to come see you. Do you mind if I come in?" I was taken aback. Seraphina had coloured her hair blond, with a single silver streak. It fell in lush waves down her shoulders, framing her face perfectly. Her nightclothes were mesh-like, leaving very little to my imagination. This was the first time I'd seen her after my return. I still had a lot to settle with her, especially the way she had conspired with the council members to make Lyra uncomfortable in my absence. But her look tonight—it was a bit distracting.

She asked with a friendly smile, putting Annie at ease. Catching a whiff of the air, Annie couldn't help but ask in surprise, "You... you're a lynx?" Seraphina affirmed with a nod, "Indeed, I am, sweet omega fox. My name is Seraphina, the pack healer, but everyone calls me Sera," as she extended a welcoming hand to Annie. ""Now, both of you, come with me," Seraphina beckoned, turning on her heels and leading them towards a back room. As they walked, Annie couldn't shake the feeling that something was off—not a bad vibe, more like a tickle to her memory.
