This was an unsettling feeling. We continued our conversation deep into the night, trading anecdotes and stories of our own lives as we went along. I learned that Seraphina had experienced her fair share of challenges in life, and that it was her desire to heal and assist others that inspired her to take on the role of a healer within our pack. I was surprised to find out that she had been through so much in her life. The revelation of this information caught me off guard. Because of the way that her capacity for compassion appeared to have no limits, I couldn't help but be intrigued by her. I couldn't help but be enthralled by her.

Seraphina’s Perspective I stood up, my eyes locking onto hers with pure anger. "For your kind knowledge, my name is Seraphina," I said, my voice steady yet sharp. "And you must be the famous Scarlett," I spat, emphasizing her name with distaste. Scarlett smirked, stepping closer with an air of arrogance. "Oh, so you already know about me. Looks like Damien talks about me a lot," she said, flipping her blonde hair over her shoulder as if she were royalty.

Seraphina walked into the heart of the village, past mothers clutching children, past silent priests too afraid to speak. The host stood near the tree. A young girl. Barely ten. Her eyes burned bright gold. “She doesn’t know,” Eveline said quietly. “She doesn’t even know she’s the anchor.” Seraphina stepped forward. “I do,” the girl whispered. “But I don’t want it.” Seraphina knelt in front of her. “You don’t have to hold it anymore.” The girl cried. “It hurts.” Seraphina placed her forehead to hers. “I know.”

Callista cut through my thoughts, flipping the book over. I frowned when she turned the page. Who asked her to skip him? I wasn’t even done drooling over his picture, and she decided to act faster than her own shadow. I wanted to complain, but wouldn't she find it weird? It's also weird on my side for desiring three guys at the same time. "This is Seraphina," she began, and my eyes snapped to the page. It was the same girl who had threatened me earlier. "She's from a noble vampire family, and she is really close to Raven's family. She's a hundred years old just like Raven," she explained.

"Who... who are you?" A slow, predatory smile touched her lips. "My name is Seraphina. And I have been watching the Blue Moon Pack for a very long time." Her gaze drifted to the path where Xian'na and her brothers had vanished. "That Holy Blood should have been yours, Jerick. But you, in your... misjudgment... allowed it to slip away." She stepped closer, her scent intoxicating and dangerous. Her fingers traced the line of my jaw, and despite everything, a spark of my old Alpha arrogance, desperate for validation, began to ignite.

Seraphina's POV "So you're Alpha Kaelos' new secretary?" Her voice was sharp, full of contempt. I straightened my shoulders, maintaining a professional demeanor even though the wolf inside me was starting to get restless. "Yes, I'm Seraphina Luminara. Alpha Kaelos' personal secretary. How can I help you?" She sneered, stepping inside without invitation and closing the door behind her. "You must be lying. How could Alpha Kaelos possibly hire someone like you so easily?"

Next time Kaelen Falcrest was her step-in sword master for the day, she'd be ready for him. Pressing her strong raven wings closes, Seraphina and sank deeper into the pool until the heat swallowed her ears, and her hair floated around her parchment pale face like black ink. For a moment, she imagined she was a hatchling again, floating in the small spring pool their nursemaids had once set up and taken them to. Little Sephora had clung to her hand then, small fingers gripping tight. Now, Sephora was slipping further and further away. She wasn't holding on now, her grip was gone..
