I cooked a lot so you'll have something to eat until tomorrow. I'm leaving now, Shanelle. I'll deliver this first." She pointed to the basket on top of the table. "That's food for those jerks. Everything I did now was deliberate. Precious sat across from me then, legs crossed, posture stiff, eyes cold in a way that grief often hardens them.
