Surprisingly, the door opened without any resistance and officer Hillary watched as she walked in slowly, like someone in a trance.

Xander said, standing up, his charcoal heart glowing with a fierce, bronze light. "There is now," the wolf replied. "It’s not in the mountains or the sea. It’s in the Unwritten Future. And the only way to get there is to walk through the First Chapter again." He pointed to a path that hadn't been there a moment ago—a path made of old, yellowed paper that wound deep into the heart of the spiral forest. As we stepped onto the paper path, I felt a sudden, sharp pain in my hand. I looked down at the gold coin. The violet script was changing again. It wasn't "RENEGOTIATE" anymore. I can see them from the tiny hole where I am hiding. Suddenly, someone flashes a light in my face, and our eyes meet. The same guy in red. Slowly, he begins approaching, his torchlight not leaving the hole. His footsteps tick like a time bomb until he gets to where I am hiding. I guess this has to be the end of the road. ---
