"We need to create a bottleneck," Kael replied, his movements jerky, robotic. "A physical shunt. Something that can conduct the raw kinetic discharge without exploding. Arthur, your armor—the alloy plating on your chest piece. It’s reinforced graphene. It might hold the charge long enough."
Arthur looked down at his battered, soot-stained chest plate, then up at Kael. "You want me to tear it off and shove it into the core terminal?"
"If you don't, we’re all turning into vapor in two minutes," Kael said, his voice straining.
