Bound by Crystals and Shadows
The forest around us filled with them, shapes of green and gray, whispering in voices that clawed at the edges of my mind.
The necklace glowed brighter, the light spreading faintly up my throat. My head pounded, and somewhere beneath the fear, something deep inside me stirred.
A flicker of warmth.
A hum under my skin.
The air around me shimmered.
Corin noticed it too. “ Liora—your eyes,” he breathed.
Before I could ask what he meant, a surge of light burst out from my chest—white and gold, rippling through the mist like a wave. The nearest shadow creature shrieked, its form dissolving in seconds.
