IN THE LIGHT OF FORTUNE

IN THE LIGHT OF FORTUNE

Those first weeks were torture - dragging herself out of bed while Damian and the twins slept, making coffee with eyes barely open, forcing her brain to engage with writing when all it wanted was more sleep. But gradually, the early mornings became sacred. An hour of quiet before the chaos of the day began, when she could think deeply, write honestly, and process her journey from barista to nonprofit leader to mother to policy advisor. The words came slowly at first, then faster as she found her rhythm. She wrote about poverty - the grinding, relentless stress of never having enough, the impossible choices between medicine and food, the shame society heaped on people for being poor as if it

Amazing Ex Wife: Come Back Please

Amazing Ex Wife: Come Back Please

She moved quietly, eyes constantly scanning, always alert. I saw the hunger in her cheeks, the way she looked longingly at the empty breadbox on the porch. I asked her about her favorite foods, and she just shrugged. “Bread. And sometimes, my papa brings me an apple.” The father told me his story, how his wife had tricked him out of their savings, vanished with a stranger, left them with nothing but debt and hard land. He worked two jobs, farmed all night, did his best, but he couldn’t give Tessa what she deserved.

Lost (in Your Emerald Eyes)

“I’m not hungry. And you changed the topic.” “I am.” Emmie rolled her eyes, understanding he wasn’t going to tell her. “You’re always hungry.” “You wanna hear a story about that?” Ramsay mumbled, feeling guilty about the way she had opened up but he hadn’t let her in. “About what?” “Why I eat a lot?” “I already know.” “Do you?” he gently asked. “I think so, yeah.” “And?” “You grew up in poverty. You don’t have food at home. Not even now. So, whenever you have money or someone offers free food, you eat as much as you can because you’re scared you’ll have to starve again.”

The story between Chubs and Nate got pretty dragging but I can't complaint, since I did end up loving this novel more than I thought I would. Halfway through 1088 chapters, things got more interesting and the ending was pretty good. Thanks for making the stories worth reading.

I really like the book, i've been stuck on it since i've found it .. it's just that the chapters are too short, it's basically a money grab... irritating that you can't read for at least 2-5 mins without having to pay for a new chapter.
