Stuck between Hockey Player and his Quarterback Brother

Stuck between Hockey Player and his Quarterback Brother

"But the NFL owners are my friends, Atlas. If you align yourself against me to protect that little charity case, I will make sure you never see a Sunday kickoff. I will ruin you." "I'd like to see you try," I challenged. "Because if you touch my draft stock, or if you ever send another email to the Chicago Financial Aid office, I am going to call ESPN. I will sit down for a live interview, and I will tell the entire world exactly what Richard Thorpe does to his athletes behind closed doors. Let's see how your corporate shareholders feel about that." I didn't wait for a response. I ended the call and blocked his number. I took a deep breath of the freezing Boston air. The bridge was officiall

ON THE SIDELINES

ON THE SIDELINES

I remained defiant, despite the fear setting in. I stood my ground even though I knew everything could go sideways here. Sasha’s eyes narrowed. “You’ve got some confidence for someone who…” her lips curled slightly, “...looks like that in a bodycon dress.” The words hit, really hard, like they were meant to. For a split second, everything went quiet in my head. The music faded, the chatters disappeared…It was just me… and that familiar sting. The same one I had experienced for far too long.

Diagnosis: Love

Diagnosis: Love

"My agent called yesterday. She said that SportsDay wants to do a piece on me, on what it's like to find a way to go on in the wake of tragedy. It'll be part of their pre-game coverage when we're on Monday Night Football in two weeks." I was silent for a few minutes. Last year, when Noah had started helping me with the plans and building of the cabin, Tampa had been in the process of finishing a crappy season. They'd lost their QB to a torn meniscus in the fourth game of the year, and everything seemed to go downhill for them after that. I knew-because we'd discussed it-that Noah worried that his focus on Angela's recovery had somehow made him a lesser player. No one else thought the same wa

Keeping Score

Keeping Score

The guy who caught it managed to get about fifteen yards before Detroit piled onto him. Special teams ran off, and Richmond's offensive line trotted onto the field. I kept my eyes glued to Leo, darting now and then to the quarterback, Gideon Maynard. Leo had mentioned Maynard before; they weren't as close as Corey and Leo were, but everything he'd said about the QB had been positive. I let my gaze wander over the women around us, curious to see what kind of wife or girlfriend he might have. "Does the quarterback have anyone here?" I bent my head close to Ellie to ask her the question.

Arnie of Mutley
I loved this book, it touched me deeply. Beautifully written, characters & situations are well described and the story gave meaning to deep feelings that arrise from difficult situations many people face in their lives. I would certainly read more books by this author.

Such a great book! Hands down one of the best I’ve read on here to date. I went through all the emotions reading Mia and Leo’s story…I laughed, cried and got mad at some point through their journey of friendship, love and growth. Definitely give this book a read!

Faking It With The Quarterback

Faking It With The Quarterback

Even though it was a lighthearted joke, it made her shudder. Refusing to get involved, she shot back, "Not for public consumption, no.""We must also write a personal narrative for you. Interests, pastimes, and family stories that make you more than just a football player. items that contradict the notion of a "loose cannon."He sneered. "Scarlett, my private life is private.""I understand,"she said softly, "but we need some carefully chosen glimpses for this to work. Just enough to reveal the man behind the helmet, nothing more.

THE QUARTERBACK NEXT DOOR

THE QUARTERBACK NEXT DOOR

Chapter 5 Derek's POV The cafeteria here at Ridgewood High always made a fuss whenever I walked in. The first thing that happened was it got noisy. The second thing was it got quiet. It started with people whispering, then chairs moving, then everyone pretending they weren’t staring at me before. I’d gotten used to it over the years. Being the quarterback did that to you. You became like a news headline. Tyler grabbed a tray and stood beside me. “Practice is going to be tough today,” he said.

HEATED OFFSIDES

HEATED OFFSIDES

I'm just saying, it would feel quite similar to this. Now I understand why Eli drove them all out. I mean, they're outside and it's still an insane amount of noise. I spot a redhead in the corner of my eye, and it takes every bit of my willpower not to turn and look. Not to glance in his direction and see his face. I make a beeline to where Cam is sitting on the fifth bench and slide in by his side. "I'm not homophobic," I whisper loud enough for him to hear. "That's your fucking business." Cam retorts between gritted teeth.
