Part of me wanted to ignore their attacks and focus on the wolf. The cocky grins on their faces disappeared when they realized I was immune to their spells. Without an ounce of guilt, I sank my teeth into his neck and severed his head from his body with inhumane strength. Tossing the dead wolf aside and letting out a mighty growl, I moved on to my next target. One of the male witches swung the silver blade wildly at me, while the other shifted. Werewolves are vulnerable to silver and can die if the cut is deep enough.

I said smirking and she groaned, shutting her mouth. “Ronald? How dare you call his highness with no respect?” I heard her whisper “We.. "Is that a threat?" Hayley interrupted me, bringing out something from her back. I widened my eyes when I saw what it was. A silver knife. "If you do heal fast, let's see how you do with a silver knife buried in your chest " She smirked, coming towards me. Silver knife, silver bullets are known for being lethal to all wolves. Especially not now that I’m not in talking terms with my wolf, it will kill me in a few seconds.

I hit him so hard in the head that his skull cracked, and ended up taking the bullet he’d meant for Orla. The smell of burning pain, followed by an excruciating pain, ran through me. Silver bullets. Why would a werewolf have been keeping something designed to kill his own kind? I couldn’t wrap my head around it. Orla rushed over to me, looking torn between surprise and worry. “Maverick?” She touched the site of the wound and recoiled, hissing. “Shit. It’s silver.”

He screamed in horror, and I flung him into the others. They staggered back, stunned. Some of them began to shift. But I didn't have the patience to wait for them to finish.

The metal burned his skin where it touched. Silver had always been fabled to kill werewolves, but a bullet to the heart was the actual killer, as it was the only organ a werewolf could not regenerate. Over the years, folklore and belief had given the metal its own powers. Having the lowest melting point helped silver get absorbed into the skin and spread through a werewolf’s blood faster, making it harder for them to recuperate. Grayson turned his attention to Brianna’s captor, who held the knife at her neck.

Two armed men flanked their leader, their weapons trained on Ralph, but that didn’t stop him from moving. They opened fire, bullets striking Ralph in the bicep, chest, and thigh, but to no avail.
