A little while later, they were on the ground floor, sitting on a bench along the hallway leading to the ICU.
Reyes leaned forward slightly, his elbows resting on his knees, his voice low enough that only she could hear him.
"The shots weren’t random," he began. "We're talking sniper. Professional-grade equipment, a suppressed barrel, positioned at least two hundred yards out, probably on one of the rooftops across from the parking structure."
