Ellie confessed again, her lips brushing against Amy’s collarbone.
“It hurts.”
Amy’s hand lifted to cradle her jaw, tilting her face up to meet her gaze. “It’ll hurt for a while,” she admitted, eyes glinting with a mix of tenderness and command. “But we can hold it together. You don’t have to carry it alone.”
Ellie blinked, tears brimming but a soft smile forming.
“You… you always make it feel like I’m not alone,” she whispered.
“You’re not,” Amy said firmly. She leaned down to brush her lips against Ellie’s in a slow, deliberate kiss, long and grounding. It was tender, intimate—but beneath it, the familiar tension, the pull of desire, hummed low like a current they both knew.
