VELVET GUN
Ellie’s arms slid around her, tenderness igniting a fierce ache, the whisper of fabric, the hush of lips meeting and then, suddenly:
Ellie kissed her lips urgent and trembling. Amy responded, fingers slipping to Ellie’s waist, coaxing her closer. Ellie’s other hand found Amy’s blood-stained blouse, sliding beneath it to touch warm, uneven skin. It was tender and frantic all at once.
They paused, their foreheads touched, breaths mingled; finally, their voices rushed out in unison:
“I love you.”
Amy’s tears stained Ellie’s collar, she didn’t pull away, It was wrong in every sense they’d been told but it felt right.
