17. Spicy "Eve..." Jaxx sighed following Eve down a hall. He heard the music start back up and figured everyone was over the little show in the kitchen, but that didn't change that the girl a few steps ahead was sprinting away from him. "Eve!" He growled when she tossed a look behind her and walked into a room where the door was finally unlocked. "Eve!" He followed her in, quickly realizing it was not a bedroom, but a closet.

Eve announced barely unable to contain her excitement as she handed her mother the box. “I thought you were good at keeping secrets.” Holly smirked as she took the box from Eve. Eve scowled. “That doesn’t count, you didn’t tell me it was a secret.” Eve argued. “Don’t worry, Eve, I know you will keep my secrets.” Lincoln planted a kiss on the top of her head. Eve stuck her tongue out and went and stood by her father. “Suck up.” Holly teased Lincoln. “What is a suck up?” Eve asked.

Laughing, Eve winked at Theo and her son replied with a gummy grin. Shia must have forgotten that they’re not only mother and son. They’re also partners in crime. How could they betray each other?! *** After Eve dropped Theo in his school, she drove to the studio as usual. “When the event starts, wait for your grandpa. He’ll join you for the event, okay?” “But mommy… they need daddies. Grandpa is not my daddy, right?” Eve’s face paled that moment, but she tried to stay calm and smiled. Yet, inside her, her heart felt like being torn apart.

Please, have some mercy. It hurts." She was begging for the mercy of a monster. In a blink of an eye, I was standing in front of her. I tried to untie her but nothing happened. Lucifer came from behind and wrapped his arm around my shoulders.

I narrowed my eyes at him and walked slowly to the kitchen. There, sitting on a new baby seat was Eve, giggling over nothing in particular. As she saw me, she outstretched her hands excitedly for me, I ran over and plucked her out of the seat, hugging her gently. I looked over at Dad, the words about to come out but my excitement was over the top and a tear ran down my face, followed by a soft sob which led to Dad hugging me.

The surrounding skin was swollen and raw, the dried blood dark and crusted. My legs felt weak as I inched closer, trembling all over. I kneeled by her side, carefully cleaning her up. Eve kept her eyes tightly shut, but tears continued to stream down her cheeks. I hugged her trembling body tightly. "Eve, let’s try to escape again! I’m ready this time. We’ll go together." Her eyes fluttered open, a hint of confusion in them. "Can I... really still get out?" I nodded firmly. She gently squeezed my hand, and a flicker of hope returned to her eyes.

Her grip on her hair tightened and she hit them over the door handle, breaking her nose. “I’m not as classy as you’re, let’s see if you would be able to show off your face in the camera,” “Try me!” Sadie laughed evilly showing off her braces. “...I’m gonna tell everyone Wesley married a cheesy bird!” Eve slapped across the face, opened the door with her free hand, and pushed her out. Sadie's hands went off her hair after pulling off some strands. “You ain’t gonna steal my million dollar purse ain’t you, you bitch!” She yelled over the door, Eve opened it and hurled it over her face.

Her eyelids grew heavy as she pulled the sheet up to cover herself, then her phone beeped with the sound of a notification. Eve grabbed the phone and stared at the message, and her expression darkened. 'When you fall asleep, don't stop thinking about your love. This way, you can dream about me, and I'll also dream about you.' Eve's hands shook as she typed a reply. 'You are the craziest person I've ever known, Mr. Hudson. Don't let me see you again, otherwise, I'll make several holes in your chest with a knife. And don't text me again!'

Her vision again blurred for a moment, yet was accompanied by the humming of her brain as her blood warmed up by the idea of Sage kissing him, her heart beating faster, ready for any unwanted scream that made her panic even more. "How could he steal a kiss and vanish? Just like that?" Shit! What an ass. Was she complaining? Hell no, the man knows how to kiss; he kissed her like she was his water in the desert. Like she was his everything, his oasis. "Sage!?" In a moment, Eve appeared and asked her what happened. "Sage vanished." "Don't worry, dear. He will be back. He always comes back." "Are you sure?" "Of course."

I was enjoying the power I held over her in this moment. “Then, what is it?” I should stop. This was a dangerous territory. But I cannot bring myself to pull away. “Nothing.” Her voice was soft and shaky. “I…I have to go.” “You know,” I reached for her hair and gently pushed it back to get a clearer view of her long, swan like neck. “Your son…he looks a lot like me.” That statement seemed to jolt Eve back to reality in an instant. I felt her body stiffen under mine and her hazel eyes narrowed now. Immediately, she pushed me back slightly, enough to create a little distance between us.
