My head whipped towards lilith with shock, as I realized she had a son. I had no idea. There was nothing in her files. I wanted to know how old the kid was and if she was involved with the father. I was far more interested than I should be. I felt like i’d been kicked in the gut. My temper exploded again when I saw her face, though. She was as white as a ghost and looked like she was going to pass out. “My father wouldn’t have said that,” she whispered, sounding like she was going to break apart

Rasing the gun Vincenzo pointed at the weakling before pulling the trigger. “Game over.” BOOM! Blood platter all around Vincenzo's face, making him look like the villain he was.

Blood splattered across the sky. Gideon struck again, aiming to obliterate Ivo. The sight sent Ivo into a panic, scaring him out of his wits. "Stop!" Mea shouted in fury. The Hellrend Severance Technique was broken. The villains knew full well that Gideon was a ruthless force to be reckoned with. At this point, there was no way to seize the pure-essence core anymore. They had to deal with Gideon first.

"I saw them at the river last week. They were hunting near our border, and I heard their leader, a brute named Victor, boasting about taking our land." The mention of Victor made Sophia's heart run with stories of his strength and danger running through her mind. What are we supposed to do?, she wondered, helpless. Bobbing his head, Robert took it all in. "We'll have to increase our patrols. I want scouts out there watching for anything that might seem like trouble. We can't afford to get caught off guard." Sophia felt a well of fear and anger rise up. Why did things have to be this way? Why couldn't they just all live in peace?

Our problems go way back, and I wiped the shit-eating grin off his face with a few punches. He looks defeated, and the final blow sends him against the ropes. Rose, get ready your bombs. Blow up the route they can pass, and if it's possible, blow them up as well," she commanded impatiently. I swiftly tapped my device to detonate the bombs I had placed near the enemy. "Noted. Avoid traveling through the North and West as there are bombs within that will detonate." Oh shit!

"Too late, honey," Victor said, his voice suddenly "Calculating" and flat. He pulled a "High-Frequency" signal jammer from his coat—a "Gilded" piece of tech provided by Julian Reed.

I stumbled into the path of a fucking villain. Well, calling it a squad back then was generous. It was just Regis and a silent Class A Beta who looked like he wanted to be anywhere else in the world. I remembered crawling through the high itchy grass, bruised and bleeding, only to look up and see Regis leaning against a thick oak tree, a wicked, lazy smirk on his face. He didn't help me. Of course he didn't. Why would he? He was Regis Nightshade— a bastard, dirtier than the devil himself, who cared about nothing and no one.
