Sofie's POV "Good morning, Sof." Katie grinned, as I plopped down beside her and set my tote bag on the table. I mirrored her grin, "Morning, Katie." "So, I heard something. Apparently, that bastard Cornelius is quitting. I was so shocked when my boyfriend gave me the news, I mean what could have pushed him to do that?" I feigned cluelessness as I brought out my writing paraphernalia, "Right, but isn't that good news? I mean a sex offender who clearly shouldn't be loitering around and molesting women is going faraway from us."

Waddled up to the door of the Victorian on the bend. Their life seemed perfect. I suppose I was wrong. In any case, the Fosters were inseparable—even when she got older. They would waltz around town laughing; sit at cafes looking like someone ought to be photographing them for a perfume campaign. And it stayed that way for a while, mind you. Until Chloe climbed out from a Taxi—and this I saw through my kitchen window.

"I think I’ve got cataracts or something, Sophie. Where on earth have you been?" Sophie smiled familiarly and said, "Hi Carter, it’s nice seeing you after such a long time. We are here now; that’s what matters. And guess what? I brought friends. Meet my kids, Owen, Nathan, and Isabella, and guys, meet Carter, an old friend of mine." He glanced at the kids and said curiously, “They look great, just like their mom.” Sophie laughed indulgently and then pointed to Joseph and said, “That’s our driver.”

he moaned and Class patted him on the shoulder. "Enough!" Sophie snarled at them. "Do this well and you will be free to have all the sweeteners you want" she said to motivate them. Though she wondered what made them loved those 'sweeteners' "Let's go. The Luna has promised us the best of gifts" Class urged Rob and they both scampered towards Kratos' room. Sophie followed them slowly and quietly. She started feeling skeptical by her 'soldiers profound joy'. "Class" she whispered. "Be careful" she warned and took position in a strategic place where she could see everything going on.

“Thanks for the help.” We stopped outside the store. Sophie pulled out her phone, scrolling through something, then looked up at me. “So whose family are you staying with? I might know them.” “The Keatons. Dale and Emma Keaton. They have a farm outside town.” Something flickered across Sophie’s face—surprise, maybe, or recognition. Her expression tightened slightly. “The Keatons. They have a daughter named Margaret?” “That’s them.” “Huh.” Sophie’s smile didn’t quite reach her eyes now. “Small world.”

Something that made me wonder if they’d been pressuring her to convict me during this witch hunt for my head. "I am Sophie Forrester. I have been Ariadne's attendant for five years now,” she started, her voice shaking a little. “Over these years, I believed Aria to be a sweet girl who had only been dealt misfortune in her life, making it easy for me to treat her as I would my own daughter. I was the one who personally cared for her and consoled her through the many difficult times she faced as our Luna. So, I can confirm that I know her better than anyone else."
