Must be a good one. You’ve been laughing all night.” A faint smirk curved her lips. Still not looking at me. “You could join in, you know. Laughter’s supposed to be healthy.”

“That’s nothing! Did you see the politician who wore mismatched shoes to the press conference? Black left, brown right. And he stood there confidently for an hour. I was embarrassed for his ancestors.” Jane pushed up her glasses, giggling. “It was trending number one for a whole day. People were making memes faster than I could keep up.” Amara found herself smiling, the heaviness of her morning already dissolving. These women were a storm—loud, witty, endlessly amused by the absurdities of the world. Their words tumbled out like waterfalls, bouncing from one scandal to another, from celebrity breakups to viral dances, always in that infectious rhythm of hot gist.

The woman in the yellow dress stood beside him with a smirk. "People turned it into memes," Astrid said. She scrolled through the comments. "It is so viral even penguins in Antarctica have probably seen it. Mom's phone has not stopped ringing since last night." I pressed my face into the pillow to block out the sight. "Turn it off." Lena said with a grin. “And did,” I quoted, using the viral pop artist meme. The shock on my friends’ faces is so Priceless. Could sell it for millions. “Wait. You’re on TikTok?” Katie shrieked. “Can’t believe all it took was a dick to show you your true potential,” Lena added, ever sarcastic. “Who said it was only his dick?” I teased. Their gasps joined my collection of unforgettable memories. My friends have never been this caught off guard—and I love it.

It didn’t take me long to figure out what was going on—Jaxon was going viral. “This is going to be fun,” Kade chuckled and then kissed my cheek. “I’ll see you later.” I watched him disappear and then kept walking.
