I lay face down in the snow, my stomach cramping so badly that I couldn't straighten up. My body hurt, but what cut deeper was the chill in my heart. Owen Schultz stood protectively in front of Sandy Hatfield, his voice dripping with disgust. "Brooke Greer, can you stop being such a buzzkill? Sandy was just teaching me how to switch edges, and she got a little carried away. You're the one with a weak body who insisted on coming to the slopes, and now you're here faking an injury and playing the victim. Get up already. Don't embarrass us."

Nathan grabbed my gloved hand. "Can you come too? Please?" I looked over at Miss Clara, who hesitated, then nodded with a small smile. "He can join today. Just for a bit." Nathan beamed. "Yes! Come on! We sit at the dino table." Inside, I squeezed myself into a comically tiny plastic chair. My knees practically touched my chest. Nathan sat beside me, opened his dino lunch box, and offered me one of his snacks. "These are dino crackers. This one's the T-Rex. He's the meanest, but also the strongest. You eat him."

The cheeses: A mix of textures, such as sharp cheddar, brie, gorgonzola, pepper jack, and herbed chèvre. The Crunch: Baguette slices, focaccia, pretzel crisps, and artisanal crackers. The Briny & Savory: Green or black olives, marinated artichoke hearts, cornichons, and peppadew peppers. The Spreads & Nuts: Stone-ground mustard, hummus, fig spread, walnuts, cashews, and almonds. "Absolutely perfection" I give Cassian an approving nod. He returns a small smile as his ears redden. He's so taken by compliments.

"Show me how sorry you are." I shattered, my entire body shaking on his fingers as wave after wave of pleasure crashed over me. He held me as I collapsed in his arms, supporting my weight as I trembled and shook uncontrollably, wave and wave of heightened pleasure rocking through me.

He looks at me but the smirk in his face is making me irritated at him that I came back to looking at the menu. “I’ll have the carbonara but just no shrimp.” The waiter nodded and when I put the menu down I saw Luke looking at me and I immediately look away. “What will you have?” He asked Pearl. “You don’t like spicy food, right?” I gulp as he said that… I don’t like spicy food but Pearl does... they we’re friends for long but how can he only remember the things that I do or things I don’t like when I was pretending to be Pearl?

Kari lifted it to her mouth as he scowled at her. She lifted her eyebrow as if daring him to say something and he couldn't help but laugh. He wanted the crackers, so it was better to just shut up and wait. He took them from her and ate them without chewing, or so it felt.
