My pulse thunders. My lungs entirely forget their purpose. I forget to remind them of it. I don't think I remember myself. When he tries to pull back even slightly, the absence feels wrong, as though the world has shifted and I haven't caught up with it yet. I don't let him get far. He wants this. He wants me. And I am done pretending that I don't want him back. Desperately.

My hands were shaking, my mind spinning with thoughts I didn’t even understand. Why now? Why would he come back now, after Fein’s death? What did he want from me? What did he mean by "meet again"? I throw at him. He withdrew his hands from me disgustingly. "Enough! Laura. Stop insisting cos' my mind is made up and there's no going back. “I don't love you anymore and I don't want to have anything to do with you again”, period! So, the earlier you realize that this marriage is over and sign those papers, the better for you cos' I've moved on.

I said and pushed him away from me. He looked at me with his nonchalant expression. "Go back to me." He insisted using his monotone voice. "Go back and I will forget all the betrayal you have done. We will continue everything that we have planned." I shook my head. "How can I? How can I go back knowing that you have turned worst than you were before. I never wished for my memories to be lost but good thing it hapoened because I can now see how crazy you turn out to be.

"Sorry. I just can't let go of you again." He withdrew his hand and hid it behind his back. "So, what do you want to talk about? Just get straight to the point; it's getting late." I took a deep breath, closed my eyes for a moment, and then spoke. I can do this! "I want you back," I began. "Please, come back to me." He scoffed, and my heart ached. "Do you think it's that easy? When you say you want someone back, do you expect them to return immediately?"

I just love the way his skin feels against mine, rough and calloused. “My mom wants me to return back home with her.” I said. I linked my fingers through his, wanting to feel more but it didn’t last long because he let go of my hand. “What do you mean? Don’t tell me you’re really considering going back with her.” He stepped back while shaking his head negatively, refusing to admit that I will be going back. “She wants to make up for the time we lost -” “What about you? What do you want?” He intervened.

Not from where he was standing. “You really think that I want to go back to that despicable man? The man who did all those things to me? Who would potentially pin a crime on me? You think I really want to go back to him?” “But… that’s what it sounded like,” Marcus said slowly, cautiously. “Well, it’s not,” I replied firmly. “That’s not what I meant when I said I want to go back. I didn’t mean I want to go back to him. To them. I just want to go back home.”
