TRAPPED IN DESIRE
My father’s old partner, thought dead, now alive, his eyes burning with a vengeance I don’t understand.
“You should’ve stayed out of it, Julian,” he says, pressing the detonator, and the ravine erupts, rocks collapsing around us, trapping us in a cage of stone and fire. Sophia’s hand slips from mine, her body limp, as a hidden panel in the rock slides open, revealing a tunnel and a new figure Daniel, his pistol raised, his eyes cold. “This ends now,” he says, but a shot rings out from behind him, blood spraying, and I don’t know who fired or who’s hit as the tunnel’s darkness swallows us, leaving Sophia’s fate hanging in the balance. Who’s alive, and what secrets does this ghost hold?
