(Serena's POV) The email from Emma's preschool had arrived two weeks ago. “Annual Holiday Performance - December 20th at 2pm. All families are welcome. Children will need costumes. Please see the attached list for your child's assigned role.” I'd opened the attachment and skimmed down to Emma's name. “Emma Hart - Star” A star. Great. That meant I needed to make a star costume. I'd spent three evenings at my kitchen table with cardboard and aluminum foil and a hot glue gun that kept burning my fingers.
