She saw the celebrant ending his speech but before she could assess the video, he started walking out of the stage. “So his bother is a Cadet as well,” she murmured bitterly. To her annoyance, Stephanie appeared and was smiling happily. “Idiot,” she cursed but heard when she mentioned that the celebrant was sixteen years old. “Must his brother have everything in common with my brother?” She yelled and attracted her parents.

He’d be wild with rage and come looking for her. That’s when you can kill him and take over both packs. It sounds like the perfect plan for you to have power over both packs and see your nemesis killed.” Stephanie was so excited about her plan that she almost hopped up and down in her chair.

“Yeah? What’s up? I know that look, Xander. You look like you’ve been through a storm or two.” I sighed, leaning back in my chair. “You could say that. Stephanie’s been… well, Stephanie. She’s been making things difficult, to put it mildly. The other night, she actually sent some goons after me. Thought they’d ‘teach me a lesson,’ apparently.” Jake’s eyes widened, and he let out a low whistle. “Wow. That’s… that’s insane, even for her. Wait, who’s stephanie again?” I shook my head with a laugh.

But when I saw a post made by Stephen himself, I froze in shock. “Hi, everyone, to clarify the issue on what my stepbrother said, I'm not homosexual or a faggot. But I do like boys and girls. “They’ll be jealous? Or bitter about how close I am to my stepsister?” The word burned. Stepsister. My cheeks flared, blood rising too fast. “You’re an asshole,” I spat, and yet my gaze stayed locked on his. He didn’t blink. “Jason is waiting,” I reminded myself out loud, as if the name would save me. “He’s waiting for me.” Ian scoffed. “Jason? That idiot couldn’t keep you entertained if he were the last man on Earth. All he’s got are dumb jokes and zero bite.” My hands clenched into fists at my sides. “We laugh.
