Stephen’s friend’s smile looks like he’s thinking about something that is not good. “Maybe they were going to... I don’t need to say it because I know that you know it, Stephen, my friend!” he pats Stephen’s shoulder and smiled like an idiot. What are they thinking? They say that Stephen and I might do something? What does it mean... I’m confused? I looked at Stephen and he could even look at me directly in the eye. “H-Hey, you’re thinking wrong!” “Wow, Mr. F**kboy is stuttering again. Guess? We’re right, Flyn!” Stephen took a broom and the two of them ran away immediately. I think they already know what Stephen will do next.

Brayden's POV I tried not to check my phone again. I really did. But I'd already lost count of how many times I'd glanced at the screen, convinced I must have somehow missed a call or a message. The notification bar was still the same — emails from my assistant, two calendar reminders, and a couple of news alerts. No update from Scott. No text from Stephanie. Not even an accidental butt-dial. Just silence. Scott and Stephanie had been gone for longer than planned. Logically, I knew Scott could handle himself. He wasn’t some rookie. He’d been a private investigator for years, and before that, he worked briefly in security. He was steady, level-headed, and the opposite of reckless.

He soon sauntered away with a cellphone held against his ears as he proceeded to speak to his Father who happened to be on the line from what I was able to hear from Steve. "Never imagined I'll see you at a party even in a thousand years" Steve remarked in amusement and I was glad they all knew I wouldn't just show up to what I consider a complete waste of my time for no concrete reason. "Hello to you too Steven" I replied dryly then extended my hand to him for a shake after I realized I had no problem with him. Last I checked, we're still business partners so I tried to loosen up with him a bit. I know you're thinking Richard is also my business partner but guess what? I DON'T CARE!
